Sadly, extremely disappointed and a let down on the food we ordered on day my wife wanted to give a special treat on my birthday. Fine Dining cuisine is not just about the experience, but the quality of food and the display. We were not mesmerized with things we ordered other than the scallops that came in big Oyster shell. It has no indian culture in it - the chicken makani my son had, tasted so sweet, that we could have easily got it mistaken for desert. The okra was meh. I mean honestly there was nothing wow factor for the night, that it made me feel to stay more and keep ordering the other dishes. If anything to compliment for the night, it is probably the halibut and staff hospitality. I dont understand the policy about not being able to bring bar snack to the main table. My wife and kids were running late, so to not to "lose" our space, i went there in time and instead of browsing through my phone, decided to have a cocktail and bar snack. Within 5 mins of the drink/bar snack arriving, my family arrived. So we thought we could proceed to main table, but apparently you cant take the bar food. The spiced potato wedges was nice so my son wanted another portion when we went to dining table. It wasnt allowed but at the end the staff brought one, just not served on bar snack container, but in a plate. Why it is a problem, beyond me. I would neither go back nor recommend this place to anyone. Its outdated restaurant in Mayfair, it doesnt have a look of "michelin star restaurant" and the food is just blend with no live in it. Its a shame Atul Kochar is not active in twitter.

Food was bland, tasteless and extremely overpriced. A true embarrassment to Indian cuisine - the average local takeaway could execute the dishes 10x better. The worst part is serving undercooked food. I managed to avoid food poisoning by inspecting the food before it went into my mouth. Separately, I asked for the lamb chops to be well done - they were rarer on the second attempt! Intervention is needed urgently to restore this establishment to an Indian restaurant to go to. A place that is tired and has had its heyday!

This lunchtime taster menu offers up seriously delicious Indian food. The flavour combinations are fantastic, and the stories behind it are even better. The service was exceptional, always with a smile, and I highly recommend asking questions about the food - any of the service team will be open to talk to you about it. Fantastic place, and I can't wait to go again.
