    I am an everyday runner who doesn’t run everyday. I wanted a training plan to train for the Great North Run 22. Ben devised me a plan which fitted into my life. He devised me a three month plan and chatted to be about my goals. We had two goals as in life sometimes life doesn’t go to plan. Everything was going great in my plan sticking to the routine and improving. Then injury happened and struggled to stick to the plan in the last four weeks. Ben gave me some advice how to manage and I’m pleased to say I finished the Great North Run. It wasn’t my first goal I achieved it was my second goal which I’m over the moon about. Ben not only helped to build my fitness up but helped me mentally to. I recommend Ben Russell because he will work with you to help you achieve your goals.

I worked with Ben on a running MOT ahead of a half marathon and even after one session I was amazed with the results.     I had an MOT session booked in with Ben as I wanted to check my running form was correct and how things could be tweaked to improve. So glad I did as I came away from the session with so much more knowledge then I was expecting. Correct warm up and drills, what muscles need to be strengthened, what will prevent injury and ease my very achy shin splints. All this as well as correct running form and things to implement. Ben has a great way of teaching and explaining everything with such a friendly and relaxed personality, which also makes it so comfortable to ask any questions. Although I'm not sure I had any as he covered everything and more. I would highly recommend and I will definitely be going back.

    I decided I needed a running coach and Ben got me back running again after having a baby. We took it slowly and built up the miles gradually. I loved running before having a baby but I'd never really trained properly I just used to run. One speed, one gradient and the same routes. Ben incorporated speed work and tempo sessions into my training and started adding weekly strength workouts. The variation was fun and made running exciting! This new way of training made such a difference to my performance and I managed to achieve a new PR at 5km, 10km and half marathon. Ben gave me guidance on my running form and I would highly recommend a tailored training plan a few months prior to a race to get really focussed.
