Belvoir fully managed our property for almost 1.5 years. It was a pleasant and professional experience throughout in terms of communication, upkeep of the property, and other administrative bits. When the tenants left, Emma (Head of property management) gave us the option to perform a checkout ourselves which helped us save a non-trivial amount of money. Furthermore, she helped us claim some money back from the deposit as contribution towards repairs while ensuring fairness to both us and the tenants. We really appreciate Belvoir going the extra mile to help us out. We thoroughly recommend Belvoir as Letting Agents!

I had an incredibly poor experience with an estate agent at Belvoir alongside my landlord at the end of my tenancy. I moved into a flat in Hitchin with a friend and we lived in the property for 2 years. At the end of our tenancy we cleaned and emptied the property and agreed that we were liable to contribute towards a few items. When I returned my key to the store, I had an uncomfortable conversation with the estate agent dealing with our departure - he told me I was being ‘unethical’ and that if I gave him some money to have the flat professionally cleaned, he would negotiate the rest of my deposit with the landlord. It is my belief that this individual and my landlord are friendly and they both set out to intimidate us. Following some sour emails and a list of costs hand written in a notebook with no evidence, the landlord claimed for our full £1100 deposit. Thank god for the Deposit Protection Service who proved that we owed no where near that amount and we received 80% of our deposit back. It’s clear why the estate agent was trying to discourage us from using the service by telling us ‘it would take too long’. The whole experience was extremely stressful and it has tainted my view on renting in general. Be careful!
