Very disappointed with the “new” Bellanger. Not impressed with the service or the menu. It seems a lot more impersonal and was very slow. Menu is quite limited compared to the old menu. The food wasn’t great - steak served sliced on a plate with not even an hint of garnish. Burger comes without fries so they are extra. And it’s much more expensive. Doubt I’ll be visiting again

The new setup is so disappointing. The generic Mediterranean menu is unexciting and pricey (for the quality we were served); the newly levelled floor is poorly supported so you gently bounce in your seat in time with the 'thump thump thump' of the waiters as they march to and from the kitchen; and worst of all it's no longer family friendly with no child portions available, only full-sized, full-priced adult ones. Clearly the focus is on a different crowd now, which is a shame for such an establishment.

Place has changed recently and as much as I loved the old deco, new one is not bad. More fresh and attracting younger crowd. Amazing bar is now at the front where great cocktails are served by very knowledgeable and skilled bartender manager. Service was on top and very professional. Maybe the suit for the guys it’s a bit too much but they look great. Food was good, loved the parmigiana as recommended- it was delicious! Must try! I didn’t really enjoy the fish fillet with beans. Sad looking dish and tasted like some flavours were missing. Overall we had a great night. Host that welcomed us is the best Host I have ever met. Super friendly, lovely, smiley lady that nothing was a problem for her. Her welcome was like she knew us forever. It’s so rare to have a host like that in places now. Little diamond :) As we locals we will be back!

Unfortunately Bellanger now requires you to provide your phone number even if you are a walk in - I see no reason for this other than to collect data and in some way profit from it, so after a decade of being a happy customer my brunches will have to be enjoyed elsewhere. Sad days.

Went to visit the recently refurbished Bellanger - French/Mediterranean cuisine located in the heart of Angel Islington. Lovely Parisian inspired interior design, polite staff and even a DJ. Had a light supper, will certainly visit again.

Tried new format Bellanger. Seems very expensive and the menu is limited. Preferred old menu, all day dining. It’s not very brunch friendly unless you want eggs and starters are very pricey. For this price range prefer Fredericks. Liked new decor. Service a bit haphazard
