I first met Tina and Aki in early 2018. I’d started a charity to help the homeless community by providing warm clothing, footwear, toiletries and many other items. Our shared passion to help those in need resulted in us supporting each other. Homeless Hampers is an exceptional charity and one that I fully recommend supporting. Homeless Hampers are an amazing team, working tirelessly and selflessly to support people in need. Initially working to provide hot/cold food & drinks, clothing, bedding and other essential items to our rough sleepers in Leeds, they have now extended their scope to provide support to other vulnerable people in need of help. Families in crisis are supported with food hampers, furniture, clothing and toys - wherever possible, Homeless Hampers will strive to source and provide what is needed to make life a bit more bearable for those struggling. The organisation is well run and new supporters are warmly welcomed and advised of ways to help. Volunteers provide a non judgemental service and where further support is required, Homeless Hampers will liaise with local authorities and/or signpost to the relevant services.

These guys do the BEST work ever. They genuinely care so much about others and always go well above and beyond to help people in need. The work they do is incredible and the time and effort they put in is outstanding. I think that Homeless Hampers are actually guardian angles of a lot of people who are less fortunate.

Tina, Aky and their team at Homeless Hampers work tirelessly to support the homeless communities and hostels. They provide Outreach on a Sunday night with hot meals, hot drinks, pack up bags and items of clean clothes and sleeping bags and more importantly in this cold weather foil blankets. They also work with the Services to refer people for emergency accommodation where they can. This isn’t always possible. They also provide hot meals to hostels in Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield 6 nights a week. Both Aky and Tina work full time in caring professions. They never stop. In addition help is also provided to vulnerable people in the way of generous food parcels and helping people set up home when they secure a tenancy. Tina has helped me with a few of these guys in addition to the ones referred by the Services directly to her to help. This help is largely in the form of furniture and white goods. They are incredible caring people who have amazing energy. Tina has built up some great contacts over the years and these guys support Homeless Hampers with donations of meals, food, goods etc. This enables them to continue with their amazing work helping the most needy and vulnerable in our communities.
