My daughter has been at Swimstars for 9 months now, and we haven't had any update on her progress. I have logged tickets with head office / emails and spoken to the teachers in person, but we still haven't had an update. For £48 per month, I would expect more and a better service.

Just checked the reviews, as I thought maybe my situation was an exception, however I mirror a lot of what was read. Very High Staff turnover, no handover from one teacher to another, leaving repetition in various grades. Short notice cancellations are frequent, without apology or automated refund. When they do manage to get a lesson in place its a stand in. Imagine your kids being taught by supply teachers their whole school life, would you expect them to excel at all? I personally don't think so. Even when your child is told they are eventually moving up trying to get the move is almost impossible as there is no internal communication, which is put down to a "New" system. It is not the responsibility of a parent to make operational changes to your business even if the system did work. Office phone number is about as useless as a unmanned voicemail, even to request a refund. Call back tomorrow, call back tomorrow. In my honest opinion, this company knows that there is limited availability for this style of tuition, so feels that they can get away with a sub standard service, and quite frankly are doing just that. Absolute despicable company, with a view to the bottom line over that they preach to be delivering as a service. As for the figure head and named owner, if I was as distant and rude in business to my clients I wouldn't have one. Avoid at all costs!

Teachers are brilliant, really gifted at Altrincham,, they’re the only reason we’re still there. The company is awful, expensive and the pools are always freezing often turning my daughters lips blue. I’m sure this wouldn’t meet health and safety standards. Customer services don’t get back regarding any issues I write to them about and there are many issues 😤

awful customer service - chased up a response to a complaint for months and was told not to hold my breath for someone to get in contact with me. Ended up cancelling my sons lessons as no one would address my complaint despite it being escalated to regional and area managers. Avoid!!

My daughter has been attending SwimStars at Walkden for a while now. She has grown in confidence so much as she was really anxious when in the water. I want to say a massive thank you to her swim instructor, Mark who has been amazing with her from the start. He has had time and patience with her each week and helped her along the way to build her water confidence. The support and encouragement he has given my daughter has been amazing. My daughter can now swim and will hopefully achieve even more skills now she has moved to the next level.

Great place for children to learn to swim my son started 18 months ago they get in the water with the kids which is great and now he’s in half lanes he’s doing superbly , would definitely recommend. Edit - there is quite a high turnover of staff in the whole time we have been here, so expect to have a different teacher every so often

My 3 year old son and my 6 year old daughter both attend swimming lessons at total fitness in Prenton. My 5 star review is based on both of there instructors, Thanos & Ruby who are absolutely brilliant with my children who are progressing massively week by week. They are both a credit to your business and are both truly great in what they do. They fill both of my children in confidence and it shows massively week by week. Credit were it is due and a massive thank you for there progression so far :)

This program is a complete gimmick - you pay for the name and not the quality of lessons you receive. For the following reasons we have cancelled our lessons with the Lincoln program: - Lack of progress, or in our case, 6 months of lessons and my children are worse swimmers than when they started. My eldest started the program able to partially swim unaided with no floats having completed a similar program elsewhere (public pool, we should never have left).. I expected the achievements to be mapped over, and for him to be quickly moving to the next class. Instead, he was put in the pool with double arm bands and a woggle week after week and made to start progressing through their own ‘awards’ from the start - at the same stage as an infant would be started at. Yet I can take him in the pool myself and he swims without armbands, on top and under the water, with no issues. My youngest (and others) spend lessons being dragged around the pool by the instructor with no need to move his arms or legs, absolutely no progress here either. - Crammed pool - the training pool in Lincoln is split in half, with 10-12 children crammed into a tiny area. Not what I’d expect given I’m paying almost £100 per month for my two children. - Slow pace of lessons - The kids barely get to swim a handful of widths in the 30 mins. 10 mins into the lesson this week and they’d swam 1 length each. This leads to the kids getting agitated, bored and messing around. - Safety - on two occasions in the last month alone, two separate children have got into trouble in the water (one without any armbands after he removed them and fell in, the other where one side of armbands fell off), both times the parents have had to drag them out of the water to prevent drowning, with neither the lifeguards or instructors realising what was going on. If you plan to go to these lessons, I’d advise you’d have a better experience cutting up £46 each month and throwing it in the water!
