FAQ

What are the regular worship services and activities offered at your gospel church?

At Beaulieu Abbey, we offer regular Anglican worship services including Holy Communion, Morning Prayer, and Evening Prayer. We also have a choir that performs during services and special events throughout the year. Additionally, we host Bible studies, fellowship groups, and community outreach programs.

What is the history of the Armenian church and its significance in Armenian culture and history?

While Beaulieu Abbey is not an Armenian church, we recognize the importance of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Armenian culture and history. The Armenian church is one of the oldest Christian churches in the world, dating back to the early 4th century. It plays a significant role in the spiritual and cultural identity of the Armenian people.

How long are your tours or services?

Our worship services typically last around an hour, but may vary depending on the service and any special events or holidays. Our tours of the Abbey grounds and ruins are self-guided and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on how much time visitors want to spend exploring.

What is your process for baptism or marriage services?

As an Anglican church, we follow the traditional liturgy for baptism and marriage services. If you are interested in having a baptism or marriage at Beaulieu Abbey, we recommend contacting our office to schedule a meeting with one of our clergy to discuss the process and requirements.

Do you offer any classes or workshops related to New Age spirituality or personal growth?

At Beaulieu Abbey, we do not offer classes or workshops related to New Age spirituality. Our focus is on traditional Christian worship and spiritual growth. However, we do offer educational programs and discussions on a variety of topics related to Christian faith and theology.

A peaceful and evocative site just a short walk from the Palace House. Not much remains of this once impressive Cistercian abbey, but the outline of the buildings is still very visible. The sites of the chapter house and monks' living quarters are clearly marked and there's also a little herb garden. The church was closed when I visited but I spent an absorbing half-hour in the little museum with its artefacts, displays and lots of info about the abbey's history and the lives of the medieval monks. There's also an accessible downstairs toilet. There are some beautiful embroidered wall hangings worked by Lady Montagu in the Domus upstairs, where the medieval lay brothers had their living quarters.

Nice church from the outside, not welcoming to worshipers who wanted to come for the service. They turned us down as we “didnt have a reservation” but they were not even helpful assist if we wanted to join after non-show. They clearly want to keep the service within their parish and are not welcome to visitors from other parish who want to join service.
