Shame the hedge is too tall to see the battle field it needs a platform or lower hedge but information good.

Good information about the towns history and the large stone tells all the information about the battle.

There was some Norwegian looking fellow standing on a footbridge killing a bunch of englishmen while all his buddies were in the background forming some sort of wall using what looked like shields. Rather interesting. 10/10 would attend in company of my knightly retinue again.

I was so keen to get here that I 'm pleased I did. Firstly, we parked in free carpark by river derwent near where the actual bridge would have been...pretty with good walk options and an info sign....but no more. Then followed google maps to site if battle and found a stone with plaque - deserves so much more!!! So weird that there was no signage and it was literally on edge of a housing estate 😜😜😜
