Recently had my wedding and rented put Baston Hall for a week for both sides of the family (15 people) and, wow, I cannot explain how beautiful and amazing Rosanna's property is. The rooms were amazing, clean, and beautiful. The grounds are expansive and so well maintained! It was such a great week away in the country side to unwind and celebrate our special week. I cannot say thank you to Rosanna enough. Highly recommended for family get aways

What a wonderful find! Having had to reschedule due to unexpected circumstances, our family’s spring break last weekend was idyllic. New calves, ducklings and fresh eggs, one could not ask for more but, paddle boarding, tennis, boules, ping pong and giant jenga kept us all busy. The house was sumptuous with everything our party of 17, ranging from 4 to 80, could want. Thank you to our hosts for your warm welcome. I hope you have an abundance of delighted guest at Baston Hall. Claire, Ursula & Family

We had a fantastic stay at Baston Hall - 16 of us aged from 8 months to 87 years ! A family get together which we try to do each year but our first stay at Baston Hall. Rosanna and Iain have created a wonderful luxurious Elizabethan country home which we felt totally spoilt to stay in. set in the most beautiful countryside it has a lake on its doorstep with a rowing boat and paddle boards to use. The main house with 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, snug, dining room and huge lounge each has its own charm. The stable block close by has 3 further bedrooms and 3 bathrooms all of these were absolutely stunning. It’s obvious that Rosanna has impeccable taste, and each rooms furnishings individually thought through, with hand painted walls, and the most delightful fabrics, her attention to detail can be seen throughout. We found Rosanna and Iain attentive when needed, giving us a wonderful family funfilled break away which was totally relaxed. Thank you for such a lovely family long weekend.

I have never written a review on google before, and felt compelled to do so. Yes Baston Hall is lovely looking. The renovations are good. However it’s all AT A COST! Make sure you are insanely careful and I would even suggest taking photos and testing everything before you begin your trip. We got accused of a stain that never was us and for BREAKING a free standing bath. I grew up with a free standing bath tub and you couldn’t even move it if you tried your absolute hardest. We did solve the dispute thankfully. Rosanna likes quiet people who don’t use the facilities. The house therefore cannot really be used as there are so many rules before you even step inside. What to drink, where to drink, plates, cutlery shoes, heels…the list continues. Personally not worth the stress, you can’t really relax Oh and absolutely no signal in the new renovated section.

We originally booked Baston Hall for a small family wedding related stay before the pandemic hit and due to the circumstances had to delay the trip not once, but twice during the past 2 years. Whilst this was obviously a major inconvenience to the owners they were very accommodating and I'm very happy to report it was very much worth the wait. The old house is quirky and beautifully decorated. Our first night was spent as a group in the small drawing room just off the kitchen chatting with a few drinks which had a very cosy atmosphere. The stairs to the top floor are a little tricky, so it's something to bear in mind for less nimble people thinking of staying up there. To be expected in a house this old though! Speaking of stairs, it is worth mentioning that the main stairs up to the entrance from the courtyard are very steep and our older guests did have a little trouble, although nothing that stopped them getting in and out with someone there for reassurance. The owner Rosanna did mention that they would be looking into hand rails for here to help with this in the future. Bedrooms were all big, all had at least their own bathroom if required (a couple of rooms on the middle floor of the house share a Jack and Jill bathroom with a copper tub, but have a family bathroom across the hallway if sharing isn't preferred). The large lounge area was big enough for our party of 13 to chat and relax in the evening without any worries and the dining room easily accommodated us all for dinner. We spent some lovely time outside in the autumn sunshine where there is plenty of seating and some chickens and ducks near the lake to keep you company. There are some nice easily accessible walks in the surrounding countryside and some outdoor dog kennels available, however we didn't make use of those as dogs are not allowed in the house and ours is a sensitive sighthound who went to stay elsewhere! Be aware the owners do have some working dogs who are very friendly but have a lot of energy and do like to jump a bit! We are all dog people, so this was a positive for us but they did offer to keep them away if anyone was nervous. Seeing them ride past in the farm Gator raised a few smiles! There was an incident with the heating in the stable building where the three newer rooms are located in which a pipe had burst on our first night there. However on us reporting it the owners had a plumber out and had it repaired as quick as you could expect them to with barely any impact to ourselves. They offered some bottles of wine by way of an apology. From our perspective these things happen and we couldn't fault the reaction to it. Feedback from all our party is resoundingly positive. There was so much to enjoy yet even all the little touches were thoughtful. We would all stay again and would recommend to anyone thinking of booking a special group stay in the countryside.

From the very first conversation with Rosanna, i knew that Baston Hall was somewhere a little more special than your usual country retreats. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, every item of furniture and every room decoration has been done the absolute highest standard- it was a pleasure to stay here. Rosanna was so incredibly helpful, from recommending a private chef to showcasing the properties amazing farm walks- I really could not have been happier with how the weekend went. We stayed as a group of 17, which in most cases you would find someone drew the short straw- however every room contains a superking bed and the house is more than able to accommodate that many people. I will stay here again- i have no doubt about it! Thank you again to Ian & Rosanna for a lovely weekend.

We Are Footsteps
I am so grateful to Rosanna of Baston Hall for her level of understanding and kind support to a change in circumstance which meant I was unable to go ahead with a booking I had made. Rosanna was initially incredibly helpful with answering all my questions, aiding me with the booking and sorting the perfect stay for us and when, sadly, we had to change the plan to do events out of our control she was kind, helpful and acted fast to ensure that the booking was cancelled, refunds were made and there were no hard feelings. I will definitely be booking a stay at Baston Hall in the future and know that we will be so well looked after by the hostess.

We stayed at Baston Hall over the weekend with a group of friends and had an absolutely lovely time. We never left the property as it has so much to offer - paddle boards, row boat, footpaths all around the properly, lawn games, you name it! Rosanna and her husband were super hosts who set us up with everything we needed upon arrival and was available throughout the weekend for any questions.
