Lorraine's conduct as a driving test examiner is nothing short of appalling. It is evident that she takes pleasure in instilling fear and anxiety in her students, and her actions during the test are manipulative and unfair. She seems to relish in the opportunity to fail candidates at the slightest mistake, disregarding their overall driving standard and competence. It is truly disheartening to witness Lorraine's approach to conducting driving tests. Instead of fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for students, she appears to revel in the power she holds over their fate. Her behavior reflects a complete lack of empathy and understanding of the immense pressure that candidates already face during such a crucial moment in their lives. Moreover, Lorraine's strictness and inflexibility are disproportionate to the purpose of a driving test. While it is essential to evaluate a candidate's ability to handle various driving scenarios and demonstrate a good understanding of traffic rules, it is equally important to acknowledge that minor slip-ups can happen, especially when nerves come into play. However, Lorraine seems to have no tolerance for any mistakes, no matter how insignificant they may be in the grand scheme of assessing driving competence. Given the distressing experiences many candidates have had with Lorraine (as seen in other reviews), I strongly urge anyone who has encountered her unreasonable behavior to lodge a complaint with the DVLA Public Liaison. It is essential to bring such issues to light and ensure that the driving test system maintains its integrity and fairness. I would highly recommend exploring alternative driving test centers if possible. Choosing a different center can significantly improve your chances of encountering a more understanding and fair examiner who genuinely prioritizes the assessment of driving skills rather than deriving satisfaction from making candidates uncomfortable. Lorraine's conduct as a driving test examiner is deplorable. Her inclination to make students nervous and her penchant for failing candidates based on minor slip-ups demonstrate her unsuitability for the role. I will complain to the Public Liaison for the DVLA and would advise anyone else with a grievance to do the same.

My experience at Basildon driving test centre was great. I have done my driving test on a Bank Holiday and my examiner Kevil Baroman was amazing. I have failed previously with only one fault (major) because the examiner I Tilbury made feel very uncomfortable but this time in Basildon was different. I have a language barrier but my examiner was very calm and explained everything in advance. All his instructions were very clear.

STAY AWAY!!! This test centre has to be one of the worst in the country! People are also told to leave good feedback. I have been driving 20+ years and riding for a year now touch wood not a single accident till date. I understand that you can pick up bad habits but my instructors saying otherwise. Took pleanty 1-2-1 bike training, 1-2-1 TFL funded life saving bike training, passed my Bike safe with the metropolitan police, Passed MOD1 with flying colours with only 1 minor however! I have taken my Mod2 3 times at this test center and they are failing me on rediculius reasons. 1st mod2 had gear issues and I stalled at the round about only about a feet outside I don't seem that as dangerous but I guess the examiner sees something that I don't. 2nd Mod2 left turn 1st exit I was advised I went to lane two when there's no markings you have to imagine where the line should be (imaginary lane) failed for lane discipline. Funny thing is both the lane was turning left anyways. Today failed again, Mod2 3rd try. Turning left into a small road with cars parked heavily on either sides, I went into the road it was clear at the time and then a car approached me and at this time I can't go anywhere (I am now 100 meters into the road after turn) no one had to brake, was not dangerous, I am an experienced road user, on coming car then went onto his left bey to allow me to pass, he came in from a left turn and joined the road. How can I see this car from the start of turning in? It's impossible. I was failed for not looking or observing what I'm turning into. That wasn't the problem thou, if that was the case the test examiner also followed me in. Lol. What kind of example is that? Failing me on what he failed. Anyways will be complaining and appealing two of the tests. The examiner does appear to be nice! His name is Daniel. It's either a money making scam or its my name. Who knows. It's a shame I got to know the area very well.

STAY AWAY!!! I had my exam today and I have to say I’m disgusted. Lorraine is not fit to be examining other drivers she is rude, over exaggerating every single thing you do. I’ve seen her smile and laugh while failing other drivers before my own test. I was respectful and not aggressive at the end and just wanted to know why I failed she proceeded to get defensive and call me and rude and just leave the car. Save your money and go somewhere else if you get Lorraine just accept the fact you’ve failed i should of listened to the reviews

Took driving test yesterday and I passed. I was quite nervous but as soon as I met my examiner Geoffrey he made me feel at ease and he explained everything to me and made me feel so much more relaxed. Geoffrey is very professional and a credit to the company. Thank you.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. LORRAINE is a nasty nasty piece of work. Totally rude and aggressive. Purposely communicates extremely abruptly to make you nervous and ready you for the fail. I seriously do not understand how this excuse of a human was given a job as an examiner. Save your money and book elsewhere. The 5star reviews left are absolutely laughable and you can just tell people were urged to leave a good review due to the constant bad ones put for LORRAINE. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. STAY AWAY FROM LORRAINE. What a woeful excuse of an examiner she is. Total jobsworth. I had a test with this individual and was blown away by her completely ridiculous attitude. Totally dangerous examiner who isn't fit to administer tests. Very condescending and rude. Constantly threatened to cancel the test acting as if my driving was out of this world then proceeded to give me only one major, which was of course done on purpose. The power rushes to her head. This examiner is literally a hazard for any learner. It's near impossible to drive with Lorraine as your examiner. Lorraine seriously needs to be reviewed by DVLA. She should not be allowed to get away with what she does. Countless reviews mention Lorraine and go in detail regarding her behaviour. It's so cringeworthy to see the forced reviews left by the tiny tiny percentage of the learners that are passed at this horrendous test centre.
