Honestly one of the worse psych wards in all of England, feels more like a poorly run prison than anything aimed at helping peoples mental state. The staff were mostly aggressive and couldn’t care less about any patient at all, most of them were also under qualified to boot. If if wasn’t for the other patients banding together to support each other throughout my experience here I would have ended up killing myself. Stay away at all costs.

Called crisis line asking for help, was honest , as hard as it was, and 1 month on no call back, typical of the society that we live in today! 10 years in "the mental health service" it is a joke!

If i could give this place 0 stars I would. Where do I begin the staff on Cherry Down Ward are so negligent and clearly don’t care about patients. They speak to them with the upmost disrespect. They always act as if they’re doing the patients a favour instead of acting like they’re being paid to do a job. They will leave you on your own during a mental breakdown for HOURS on end and they don’t usually intervene or ask if you’re okay until you’re physically harming yourself. This place deserves to be shut down it’s an absolute joke and i’m not even sure how it’s still open and allowed to “care” for patients. If you care about your loved ones you wouldn’t send them here at all.

This service will leave you to die! If you value your loved ones life or your own life please do not go to Basildon mental health! They will dose you with meds and leave to you to get on with it regardless of the affects. They do not keep to their legal/medical guidelines for assessments or medication reviews. This team has a severe lack of understanding & proper training for mental health & the care/support needed for people who are severely struggling & suicidal. Crisis team, first response, recovery & wellbeing, duty line and 111 mental health emergency all leave their patients on the brink of suicide because you’re on a waiting list and there is nothing they can apparently do. Medication review & check ups are none existent unless you chase for them and even then you’ll be likely to wait months to hear back, as there is only one psychiatrist on the team. Distrusting!

Useless service designed to keep you in a loop that doesn't exist. I was informed today that, I've been in therapy with them for the past year. I only called them today ? Its sickening to think if this was true that in a whole year no one has tried to contact me due to missed appointments. I could of been dead, disgusting service.
