Quite simply one of the most fantastic schools you could send your child to. I say that not as a parent of a child there, but as a teenager who went there myself, and now a parent myself of twins who I wish could also attend and I would do so in a heartbeat - but unfortunately we now live 3 hours away. I left the school in 1994 having spent 3 extremely happy and memorable years at BHPS, where every experience I had was a positive one, in and out of the classroom. I still have a very close affiliation with the school, as do all of the people I went there with, and most ex-pupils also do, who have experienced a BHPS education in the last 30 years. We all owe so much to the incredible Headmaster Colonel Boulter who retired this year, and when I attended I was taught by the fantastic new Headmaster who takes his place. My fellow pupils are all still the closest of friends and we will always feel part of the extended BHPS family - and any ex pupil will always receive the warmest 'welcome back' if visiting. I know for a fact that the school is still held in the highest regard by an extremely large majority of parents who trust BHPS to deliver the highest quality of education, extra curricular activities and a positive experience for their pupils. Time and time again it has been - and still is - proven every year, how BHPS students move on as confident, friendly and well rounded individuals, who gain incredible grades in further education, land incredible jobs, or concentrate on and become incredibly successful in their chosen sports, or a discovered passion for something they experienced through the incredible amount of extra curricular experiences the school gives every pupil the opportunity to experience. Follow their Facebook page for regular evidence of what I'm saying here. To read even the rarest of negative reviews of this wonderful school is absolutely dumb founding and you can simply ignore, for if every other pupil or parent wrote you an honest personal review - as this one is, you would be reading what you are here. Barnardiston Hall Prep School is one of the most friendly, understanding, forward-thinking and truly fantastic places for your child to learn and grow, where they work closely with parents to ensure each pupil is seen as an individual with individual needs. As I was. Someone that missed 3 years of education due to ill health, but caught up in under a year at BHPS - and went on to smash my GCSEs, pass my A levels, a 2:1 at University and now run my own company. I owe all of this to them and endless thank yous for all the other amazing, happy memories.

I have two children at Barnardiston who couldn’t be happier! They have been there since babies in the nursery, going through Pre Prep and now loving life in the Prep School. Their care and education has been outstanding, the headmasters and teachers supportive of my daughters extra curricular activities and most importantly for me, they come home with big smiles every night and full of confidence. They love the music and drama on offer and my eldest secured a voiceover role for a Dreamworks animation and work for CBeebies and joined a Cathedral choir thanks to the help and support from their drama and music teachers. I love how much sport they do too and the resilience they gain through just being at Barnardiston. I can’t wait to see what the next few years brings at Barny!

All three of our children have thrived at Barnardiston Hall. Each one with different passions and interests all of which have been encouraged and nurtured in the incredibly supportive environment that is the Barnardiston way! If you want a school with teachers that really care about your children, grounds to explore and trees to climb then look no further. My eldest two have long since left Barnardiston whilst my youngest is in her final year. In the 18 years that between them they have attended Barnardiston not once have they not wanted to go to school! I think that is rather rare. My older two are still great friends with many of their Barnardiston class mates and are always keen to attend any events that Barny holds as they both have such fond memories of their time there and are so happy to catch up with their old teachers. It is a remarkable school and I am so very grateful that we found it all those years ago, we will be very sad when our youngest finishes this year however on to pastures new with the advantage of having spent such a happy childhood at Barnardiston.

I would not recommend this school. The head of the school is narrow minded and unwilling to embrace new practices. Our son was bullied to the point where we removed both of our boys before the end of the year. Now they are both at Stoke College and are happy and thriving. I would highly recommend Stoke College if you would like a school with a modern outlook, great teaching but with good values.
