After getting the go ahead from my husband after wanting a dog for 6 years we luckily stumbled across Ben & Sue at Barkinghampalacegundogs Palace. From the first phone call with Ben we were reassured that both we & the dogs/puppies we’re in great hands. We first visited Ronnie at 4 weeks and visited frequently before collecting him at 8 weeks. Both Ben, Sue & Steve were so accommodating and let us visit more or less when we wanted which was fab! We even got regular video/pic pupdates which kept us going in between visits. We were able to build a solid relationship with Ronnie before bringing him home. You can tell that all of the dogs and puppies are so well cared for and Ben is so passionate about what they do at Barkingham. Ronnie came with everything we needed to keep up going for the first couple of crazy weeks, which helped massively! Ronnie is a fantastic dog, so clever, full of a character and a dream to train! We’ll be going back to Ben & Sue when I get the go ahead for a brother for Ronnie 😁

We decided that we wanted a new addition for our family, but had no idea what we needed to be looking for as we have never bought a dog before and so started researching and looking at available and expectant litters. We contacted a few breeders but did not feel confident about their responses. We found Barkingham Palace on a local google search and left a message. Ben called the next morning and talked us through everything and answered all of our questions. We made an appointment to go and view their puppies. Even before we went to view we were sent loads of pictures and videos of the available pups and their parents. When we visited the place was very clean and we were given a very warm welcome and the setup for visiting was really nice. We were viewing three male pups from two different litters. Ben gave us loads of time and helped us to make a choice. We also explained to him that our daughter was very nervous about getting a dog due to being a bit fearful, Ben told us that we could bring our girls along to meet the puppy before we committed to make sure that we were making the right choice for our family. We went along the next day with our girls and we were given as long as we needed to help our daughters be comfortable with our new family member. We were also encouraged to visit as many times as we liked for the next couple of weeks so that we could get to know our puppy and he could get used to us before he was old enough to come home. This was amazing for our daughters nerves as it really helped her to not be too worried when the time came to bring him home. We informed Ben when first viewing the pups that we unfortunately had a holiday booked when the puppy was going to be 11 weeks old, so we asked if Ben could look after our puppy for the 5 days we were away, which he said he would be happy to do as was still going too have a few puppies from the litter with him at that time. He gave us the the option of either collecting the puppy when he was 12 weeks old, or we could have him at home from 8 weeks and they would look after him for us for the 5 days that we were away. Which is the option that we went for. The whole experience could not have gone any better, Ben and Sue delivered Murphy to us on a date that we decided. He was microchipped and first round of vaccinations done, they also provided a weeks worth of food, bowls, a couple of toys, a bed and blanket that smelled of his mum and litter along with plenty of information. We have also had their support for any questions whenever needed. Murphy has settled in so nicely into our lives that it is difficult to remember life without him. When it came time for our holiday we dropped Murphy back with Ben and Sue, before we had even gotten back home we had been sent a video of him playing and being reunited with his brothers and sisters. We were also able to call during our trip to check he was getting on ok. Conveniently the remaining litter were having their second round of jabs while we were away so we asked if Murphy could be done at the same time to save a separate visit to the vets which Ben happily arranged. We have now returned from our trip and he has settled back in, in no time at all. We couldn’t be happier that we chose Barkingham Palace and know that if needed advice and support will always be available.

Ben and Su were fantastic from our initial enquiry right the way through to when Duke came home. Ben was always at the end of the phone and even after Duke was home checked in on us regularly to see how we were doing. I feel all the times we were allowed to visit and bond before he came home really made such a difference and made it a far smoother transition for him to settle. The site is clean and well maintained and all the dogs are happy and healthy. Ben and Su also delivered Duke to us and provided beds, food, bowls and toys. They were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone considering a Labrador.

Well what a fantastic breeder. Ben and his family were brilliant through the entire process. Of all the breeders I contacted Ben was the only one to answer the phone and actually return calls promptly. They accommodated us at short notice for trips to see our selected puppy and simply couldn't do enough for us, from providing advice and even delivering our puppy on a Friday evening during rush hour. Our little puppy is now 11 weeks and is phased by nothing, she was fully toilet trained within a couple of days and continues to amaze us with how she bright she is. Ben continues to provide us with support and checks in on us to see how we are doing. If you are thinking of getting a Labrador I highly recommend Barking Palace.

Was recommended Barkingham Palace by a friend. Was scammed in the past so was a bit dubious but when i met Ben and Sue they soon put me at ease. It is spacious and well kept. Ben was more than happy to answer any questions we had and was not trying to push a sale. He talked through all of the paperwork with us, chipped the puppy and provided vaccination records. Ben and Sue were so helpful and provided us with everything we needed for the first week of having the puppy at home and kept in touch after we had collected him. Buster is a happy playful pup who loves everyone he meets and wants to play with them.

We have been looking for a reputable breeder for some time to get a Fox Red Labrador and through lots of research, we found Barkingham Palace. Ben is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, the site is well maintained and the dogs are all very happy and healthy. We were able to meet all the dogs, see their kennels and paddocks as well as choose our puppy and meet the mum/dad. Everything was so reassuring and the advice Ben provided was very helpful. He ensured we visited several times to have bonding sessions ahead of collection to make sure our puppy was happy to leave with us. We are so in love with ‘Whisky’ and he has settled in so well as a result of Ben’s approach. He truly cares about the future welfare of all of his dogs and has followed up to check how everything is going since our puppy came home. We cannot recommend Barkingham Palace enough.

I found Ben & Sue through a client dog I walk being perfect for what I like in a labrador, on our 1st conversation Ben went through everything and answered any questions I had, I felt under 0 pressure to put a deposit down but I proceeded then upon meeting them all and seeing their set up and dogs I was extremely happy with them and how their dogs are cared for, trained and could clearly see they are their lifes, Doing the bonding sessions they offer really helped my puppy have no issues settling in, she's confident, very healthy, happy and showing such great potential as a future working gundog already which is what I wanted 😊 Since taking my pup home I've spoken to them on a few occasions checking on her/us As for the family themselves they are down to earth straight talking lovely people, everytime I went over I found myself laughing, chatting about dogs for hours and just generally felt very welcome and like a long lost friend! They really know their dogs and are teaching their son in the same way.. Nothing felt like a burden asking to visit or any questions i might have had I'm sure would have been answered throughly.. You definitely get a dog and the support from them and potential friendship as I have.. All in all anyone looking for a labrador for multiple things then these are the people for you, the pups have the potential and drive to be anything from pets to police sniffer dogs in my professional opinion.. And recently they've started breeding cockers in the same impeccable way so I look forward to seeing that progress over time.. Being in the dog business myself and having worked in rescues as well it takes a lot for me to be 100% happy so im very glad I found them!! Thanks guys x

My partner and I decided in 2022 to get a Labrador but knew we couldn’t get one until one of our old small animals had passed. We did a lot of research about the breed and started to look for nearby breeders, which is how we came across Barkingham Palace. In early January 2023 our old animal had sadly passed away and after deciding we still wanted to go ahead with getting a Labrador we contacted Barkingham Palace who had just had litters of puppies. We enquired on a Sunday and Ben called us early the next day to discuss which was very informative and no details were left out regarding the process. Ben asked us questions which was reassuring as you can really tell that they care about the home that the dog will go to. Ben regularly sent us ‘pupdates’ to let us know how they were all getting on before we were able to visit. This was so important for us because it feels like a long time to wait until you can take your new family member home. Once both litters were over 4 weeks old we were able to visit Ben and Su to choose our puppy. As we chose from both litters it was very difficult to decide which dog we wanted, Ben gave us advice throughout the time we were there and we did not feel rushed to choose. We finally whittled it down to one dog from each litter, Ben and Su really helped us to make a decision by talking about each individual puppy, after what felt like forever we finally chose our Enzo. Enzo was microchipped in front of us so that we could be sure he was our puppy on future visits. We also saw both mums and dads which was really important to us and they were clearly very well looked after by the team, their site is very clean and well maintained, we could really tell how much their doggies mean to them. After choosing Enzo we were able to visit him as much as we wanted for us to be able to bond with him before taking him home. We decided to visit him every weekend and we were able to bring toys and blankets with us to help us bond. We made sure that the items we brought along had the scent of our remaining small animal which really helped when they finally met. Ben and Su were so accommodating during these visits and able to answer any questions. I really believe that the bonding sessions massively benefited the taking home process and would encourage anyone to do these. Finally, the day came when we were able to take Enzo home. This was arranged well and we were even able to meet with the vet who carried out his vaccinations and health check. Ben and Su gave us exactly what we needed; a bed, bowls, scented blanket, toys and food. Ben advised us further on the journey home and how to recognise toilet signs which we greatly welcomed. On Enzo’s first day home we really felt like he was the best behaved puppy in the world. He toileted outside and we were able to recognise the signs of when he did need to go. He has a brilliant temperament, not mouthy, whiny or barking. We have a crate for Enzo to use if he likes, which Ben gave us really good advice on. Enzo even knew how to sit and would sit when he runs up to you instead of jumping. We have a younger small animal and Enzo is so gentle when going near his cage and is not obsessed with him which is a really good thing for us. The first night was really good, Enzo slept through the whole night, no crying or whining or jumping up and even waited for the morning to go to the toilet. He is an absolute credit to Barkingham Palace as we believe that the care, hard work and compassion that Ben and Su put into raising their dogs shines through. We have now had Enzo for 6 days and he is still so well behaved, we already can’t imagine our lives without him. Ben is always on hand to answer any questions and gave us follow up calls to check how Enzo was settling in which was really welcomed. We would not hesitate to recommend getting a dog from Barkingham Palace to anyone. We are so glad we choose Barkingham Palace over breeders on popular websites as we know that Ben and Su have their dogs best interests at heart. Thank you all so much!

We were looking for our first dog, having decided to get a Labrador puppy. After searching around we found Barkingham Palace and were impressed by the reviews. From the first phone call Ben was super helpful, explaining everything we needed to know. We arranged a visit to go and see the puppies from the latest litter and try and select one - we were given as much time as we needed to make a choice, whittling down from about 8 pups to our final choice was not easy! (they were all so cute!). Before seeing the pups we got to meet the dad (Ryder, a lovely athletic fox red lab) and saw the mum - important to be able to do that. Once we picked our pup, Ben talked us through the process, and also microchipped her in front of us so that we could be sure we later picked up the right pup. We were also encouraged to book in some times to come and spend time with our new girl before picking her up at 8 weeks so that we could all bond. Those bonding sessions were great, we were left with our pup and all had a lovely time getting to know each other - I think that was a great part of the process to help us all before collection day. Collection day was all organised well, and we were given food, bowls, toys and a familiar bed and blanket that her and her siblings had used in order to help her settle. We had follow up calls in the days after bringing our pup home to check all was well and if we needed any guidance etc. At all times Ben and Sue were a pleasure to deal with. They love their dogs, and the facilities are well set up - the dogs are all healthy and well cared for - their love for their work really shines through. We have got a happy healthy puppy who we are delighted with. Highly recommend Ben and Sue at Barkingham Palace without hesitation.
