We had Karen come to meet basil when he just turned 2 months and had some personal 1 on 1 training as well as some group sessions. Her guidance on how to behave with basil and how to get him to learn with us was absolutely amazing. The group sessions were also incredibly valuable, for making sure that basil was social with other dogs and also at getting basil to behave in public. Getting Karen's help has led us to be confident with basil and he's now a healthy, well behaved and obedient 6 month old. Wholeheartedly recommend!

From the moment we met Karen we felt we were in safe hands and our puppy loves her. We started off with a few home visits learning the basics and some good animal behaviour and then we were ready for socialising with other dog. The classes Karen runs are a fun way for the dogs to learn good behaviour and get to know each other in a safe outdoor environment. Then finally we were ready for the next step, off the lead in the woods! Our dog did really well and with Karen’s guidance we were confident to let her roam free, knowing she was always going to come back to us. I would recommend Barebones K9 training to anyone who wants a happy, well behaved and healthy dog. Thank you Karen.

Our miniature dachshund puppy’s confidence with other dogs of a range of sizes has completely transformed. Karen has such a way with dogs, we are incredibly grateful! After trying a socialisation session elsewhere that did not go to plan, we were recommended Karen’s sessions at Life off the Lead. The sessions are well structured, and supervised which gave us great peace of mind. It’s like having a new dog when we’re out and about - thank you so much!!

I first met Karen to help sort out some small issues with my other dog before the new puppy arrived. I immediately liked her approach. All about positive reward and disengaging from negative behaviour. When new Border Collie Twix arrived I decided against basic puppy classes (I could do the basics myself) but really wanted him well socialised, so opted for her outdoor puppy socialisation classes in a secure field. It’s been a total game changer. Well constructed classes, different each week, but allows the puppies to let off steam, engage with each other whilst learning how to safely and respectfully interact with other dogs. Again Karen uses her positive approach but knows how to instantly disengage any negative behaviour. The group ranges from really big dogs to the tiniest of miniatures. All now great friends. It’s been interesting to watch more nervous dogs really gain confidence over the weeks. Twix is 8 months now and I can confidently walk him off lead knowing he has really good recall, respectful of other dogs and will instantly disengage when asked. As a bonus Karen is lovely with us owners and is always positive with us, never telling us we are doing things wrong. Thank you Karen.

Hi just wanted to say how fantastic Karen from Bare Bones K9 Training is. Tilly our French bulldog seems less reactive towards other dogs since Karen has been walking and training her. Karen is reliable and trustworthy and we would have no hesitation in recommending her. We trust Karen to look after Tilly as though she was her own dog. Thank you Karen so much for all the care and attention and fun you give Tilly.

Excellent dog trainer, have used her 1:1 sessions, pack walks and group classes with our Labrador puppy. He loves every part of it and it is amazing how much he has learnt from her. Would highly recommend!

Karen is absolutely fantastic: knowledgeable, patient and very understanding. She has helped our puppy and us grow in confidence and helped us to enjoy training and going for walks. Karen has taught us a range of "tools" to improve recall and to make us interesting to our puppy so he wants to be with us rather than being with another dog, person, leaves, pine cones, stagnant puddle. I would highly reommend.
