Quiet, lovely facilities and very clean. If it’s peace and quiet in the Yorkshire moors, then you can’t go wrong here. Lovely owners who make you feel very welcome. Local honey is amazing, small on-site cafe makes a lovely coffee…although we didn’t try the ice cream this time. Local area has stunning scenery and great walks, well worth a ride out to Goathland and if you like a walk, take the Gromont trail walk, then get the steam train back. Definitely going back in the summer.

Currently a week into my pre booked two weel stay at Bank Top, and I have not one bad word to say about it. Keren and Ian have put together a wonderful campsite on the North Yorkshire Moors, laying a 15 minute drive from Pickering with great views of the moorland scenery. It is a good base camp for a holiday exploring the moors, with all the local tourist destinations within easy driving distance. Facilities on site are more than adequate, washing and toilet facilities are modern, spacious and well maintained. Both Keren and Ian have been most welcoming to me during my stay, and were also helpful with emails back and forth in the run up to my stay. Pitches are well spaced for a balance of tents and caravan/ campervans, with electric hook ups available. There is a fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer available, with a selection of local information, magazines and board games. Hens are kept on site, providing a supply of fresh eggs purchased through an honesty box. The only let down has been the unpredictable british summer weather, which went from glorious and sweltering heat, to outbreaks of summer rains. While some people find the rules set out by Keren and Ian while using their campsite overly strict, I definitely believe they are a good balance for an enjoyable stay by all comers. This is my fourth holiday to the area, I was considering trying somewhere else next year, but my stay here may just of changed my mind.
