This Home is supposed to be great been owned by four seasons but unfortunately it is not. In less than two months of working there i was placed on pain killer, i almost lost my pregnancy lifting chairs because no one else will do it except me and supporting residents in standing. I was already dieing in silence, wondering how i will survive the job before i was called and told that my contract will be cancelled. I was relieved hearing it and didn't argue it because i dont know how on earth 20 residents will be put in the care of one carer and one senior carer who will still have to do medication for night, 6am and 7am, do manual daily review writing, visual and turning recording, cleaning etc.12hrs is not even enough to complete these tasks. These residents are expected to be fully assisted all night by just 2 people and gotten up in the morning .And in the morning its complain everywhere, no single appreciation or encouragment. My advice to any brown skin trying to apply is do not. They are racist, they don't like you and you can never please them even if you die working for them. Well except you are ready to be their slave. My 3 stars is for four Seasons which is an Amazing company. I appreciate the opportunity in the first place.

Done one shift there, it's very terrible place... Residents are abandoned in bed pass mid day!!! The state of the building doesn't look very safe. Not enough lighting... Nurse very rude and have zero proffesnonal approach. You can't ask for assistance or you will be told off so work won't be conducted safely.. Staff not following manual and handling law I'm supprised sheffield council not done any legal action against this unhealthy place to work let alone for people (residents) to to live there...

I visit numerous care homes throughout South Yorkshire as an entertainer, Balmoral being one of them. I have always found the staff to be fully involved in the care and well being of the residents. They are kind and show a knowledge of each individuals needs. My auntie was in fact a resident at Balmoral and the family were very happy with the care and compassion given to her during her stay and during her final days.

On initially picking this home for my nan it was a good care home but due changes in management and a roundabout effect with staff care has plummeted. The dementia unit care is below poor due to been under staff and under educated on dementia care. Heart breaking that a good home has gone under due to poor management

My mum (regrettably) spent her last few months in here. Admittedly she was stubborn, difficult and, at times, just plain horrible but that's how mental illness and anxiety manifests sometimes ..I thought staff would know that. She was so unhappy. We made sure she had a visitor every day and at each visit she was wearing someone else's clothes, despite the fact that we had bought name tags and fastened them in all her belongings. The worst part of it was she knew they weren't her clothes she was wearing...so upsetting. On more than one occasion I walked the corridor and saw some random person wearing my mum's cardigan or dress or skirt. In the end we took turns at doing her laundry ourselves. She was plonked in front of the the tv day after day for hours ...under stimulated and seemingly ignored. It's been a year since my mum passed and it's taken me that time to be able to write this. I'm hoping in that time things have improved somewhat. If you are thinking of going there pay them a random visit, don't ring ahead to inform them that you're going. Just keep an eye on your loved ones.
