The most unhelpful and incompetent reception staff. Called up for an appointment and was told there are no appointments at all, they had no idea when new appointments would be released, and to keep calling back in the hopes I'd get one at some point. Receptionist had a terrible attitude, continually talked over me when I tried to understand the issue with getting an appointment at any point even far into the future, and was generally unbelievably rude and snappy. Very much lacked the EQ you'd hope for in someone working for an NHS GP, I came away from the call near tears at the stress of just trying to get an appointment.

It was great 20 years ago. Maybe taken on too many patients? Offered an appointment for 22 days time. Had to pay to go private to be treated. Either we pay less in as taxpayers and have a hybrid public/private system where we know what we get from each aspect of that system as fits and pay top ups privately when needed, or practices can only take on the patients they can serve in a timely fashion on a 95% confidence parameter. I appreciate not easy, but this practice has gone from a proud standard bearer to a shadow of that.

Possibly the worst GP practice in the country, in our opinion. Impossible to get an appointment; doctors are inaccessible; admin staff rude and unhelpful; practice manager not proactive, barely reactive, and in our experience, mostly inactive. What do these people do all day? Not much, as far as we can tell. Our recommendation - any surgery except this one.

I’ve been a patient at Balham Park Surgery for over 11 years and I have always had a great experience with the surgery. The staff are friendly and the doctors are professional. Only minor issue is sometimes the long wait times for the phone to be answered but overall fantastic service and great care. Thank you to everyone at the surgery.
