The Project :- Major re-ordering in a Medieval Church including installation of WC, kitchenette and creating a social area, thus widening the use and scope of the church. Bakers of Danbury was chosen from the DAC’s Architect’s short list and so we were introduced to a very enthusiastic, accommodating and amiable team, whose experience of working on ancient buildings meant the joiner and stonemason overcame many difficulties to present us with a light-filled space, restoring the sense of reverence and the Medieval vertical line which lifted the thoughts to heaven, unencumbered by Victoriana. All this work took place during a very cold winter and under Covid restrictions. Despite this, the on-site team worked with great care, enthusiasm and skill which have been complimented on by all who use the church. Thank you.
