I started weekly sessions with Adam back in May 2022 with a simple goal to lose weight and get my fitness back. Adam has been absolutely fantastic, building my strength, confidence and helping me achieve what I could have only dreamed about back in May. To date I have lost 2 stone 4.5 pounds and 12 cms from my waist and hips. I've still work to do to get to my overall goal, but Adam keeps me focused and I'm looking forward to continuing with my fitness journey. On top of all this, he's a really nice bloke too. Having promised myself that when I retired I would finally devote some time to improving my strength and fitness levels, I signed up for 24 sessions with Adam back in March '22 and now just keep signing up for more. He puts so much effort into tailoring each session exclusively to my needs and abilities, and is so good at motivation and encouragement - he gets me to do exercises and lift weights I never thought I would be able to do. And I feel so much better - back in the Dales for a couple of days, I was charging up the hills ahead of much younger walkers than me who couldn't keep up with me. Thank you, Adam!

I’ve been visiting Adam’s training facility for over 6 months now and have enjoyed every minute. He offers an initial consultation where your needs and aims (& maybe limitations) are discussed in detail ; he is then able to offer a fine-tuned, individual training plan that fits your capabilities and realistic targets. He doesn’t offer anything that’s not achievable. Adam really listens to what you want and think you can achieve, then works out ways to make it happen, offering super-encouragement as you go. I’ve always found him very flexible and responsive to how often and when I can visit. He gives feedback both during the session and via SMS/email as needed. Adam’s approach is holistic; not only does he work on weight loss, fitness and strength in his gym, but he offers expert nutritional and lifestyle advice as he goes. You (the client) will get much more out of that if you’re honest and up-front about all your vices! He doesn’t expect you to be super-human and really does give maximum motivation and encouragement as you go. His approach is also personal; he gets to know your individual traits and niggles. He knows which of your buttons to push to get the best out of you. Sessions are mainly tough, and (honesty…) I do my sessions in the evening after a long day at work… I usually think, “Oh, no, it’s Adam tonight, I really wanna go home…” but after my session, I feel great and full of energy! If you’re thinking about seeing a PT, take the plunge! I couldn’t recommend him enough.

I started PT sessions with Adam in April this year after trying for years (but failing miserably) to get myself back into shape with gym classes and other exercises - but suffering constant setbacks and injuries meant I just wasn't getting anywhere doing it on my own or in the local gym. I'd also recently hit perimenopause and was suffering increasing joint pain, low energy, lack of motivation and was worried about the possibility of loss of bone density, muscle wastage and declining mobility (not to mention midlife spread) which happens so often to women after menopause. In short I felt like it was definitely a case of use it or lose it, and now or never!! Making the commitment to twice weekly workouts with Adam has been the best investment in my health and wellbeing that I've made, ever! In the space of a few short months I have made more progress than I could have dreamed of and am feeling stronger and fitter now than I have felt in years. Adam manages to tailor each workout so that he pushes me to get the best out of myself but it never goes to the point where I feel like I'm not capable or am suffering injuries like I was previously, when going to the gym myself. Even when I did sustain an injury (through other activities), he adjusted my workouts to allow for me to carry on working out in other ways, until the area I'd injured had recovered. He takes safety incredibly seriously and has built up my workouts gradually but effectively, in a way that I am now lifting weights that I'd never dreamed I could have. He has also helped me with exercises to do at the gym on the other days to complement my sessions with him and to build my core strength even more than what is possible in the 2 hours a week I have with him. He is so encouraging and genuinely cares about how you are doing and I know he takes the same care and commitment with each and every one of his clients. Going to a personal trainer was not something I'd ever envisaged myself doing before, but it has made such a difference and 100% resulted in me being able to stick at an exercise programme and achieve results. This has empowered me to feel so much better about myself that my confidence has improved and I feel I am capable of achieving even more now with Adam's help. My worries about developing sarcopenia and osteoporosis have now been replaced with ambitions of achieving levels of strength and fitness over and above just that necessary to prevent decline, but to thrive! Also - weight loss was never my goal - but an added bonus is that clothes that have not fitted me properly for years, but which I have hung on to and have been hanging in my wardrobe unworn - finally fit me easily again, and a friend who I'd not seen for a while commented just the other day that I was looking radiant! So the results have clearly been both inside and out.😃

Adam at AW-fitness is very professional and down to earth! He's very good at creating training plans, and monitoring nutrition suited to individual goals. No two training days are the same and he always checks in a day or two after a heavy session to see how the DoMs are so he can plan for the next session. When I contacted Adam I had lost all motivation, put on weight over lockdown and was struggling to get back to any form of running. In the 10 weeks of working with Adam I've almost hit my target weight, toned, gained strength and I'm back running again. If your looking for a PT that is supportive, inspiring and gives you a healthy appetite to get fitter and healthier than I would recommend AW-fitness.

Adam has transformed the way I approach fitness. My sport is running and his insights into nutrition to fuel my runs have been great. I can’t believe I was fuelling my body so badly before. I’m vegan so it was wonderful to find a PT with such broad nutrition knowledge including plant based plans - I credit him with introducing me to the joys of overnight oats, piles of amazing vegetables and whole foods. He has also opened my eyes to other types of strength and conditioning workouts and actually makes them fun! I love his short, sharp workouts with varied exercises, boxing and weights. I am quite uncoordinated but the work we’ve done on balance and stability have helped me be a faster runner and stay injury free. I thought my PB days were behind me but I have smashed quite a few since I’ve known Adam. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
