Fantastic 4 night stay at Avondale.second stay here this time in the poppy room which was a beautifully decorated spacious room with a large very comfortable bed Carole & Wendy are perfect hosts and if you need to know about york they have great knowledge. Lovely variety of breakfast which are all delicious. Will be back again next year for a lovely stay again.

From the start, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Carole was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and made great recommendations for things to see and do. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous, with a good choice of dishes and excellent and warm service from Wendy. The room was very comfortable with lots of thoughtful finishing touches. The location was central, with restaurants, cafes and bars within a 2 minute walk. The route into the city went past the city walls and the castle, so was a very pleasant walk. We would definitely recommend Avondale Guest House and thank you for such a fantastic stay!

Delightful B&B close to city walls and around 10 mins away by foot from the Wall and 15 from Clifford Tower. Landlady Carole was friendly, room was clean and tidy, good shower, comfortable bed, and tasty breakfast choices. Whisky porridge needs to be tried as it is good. I also enjoyed the fish for breakfast. Would happily stay here again next time we are in York.
