I phoned them about a gearbox problem with a VW Golf DSG. They gave me great advice including getting a local garage to carry out a diagnostics check. Once this was done they phoned me with a very detailed explanation of what they were sure was the problem. I took the car to them and thery fitted a refurbished mechatronics unit at about half the price of a new one. Took about a week to complete but car drives like new. Great service and very pleasant and knowledgeable people to deal with. Would recommend for any DSG issues. Many thanks. Service: Transmission

I rarely leave reviews however it is the least they deserve. Have a 14yr old TT V6 with a DSG gearbox that was tending to 'jerk' a bit in the lower gears & reverse. Have read reviews on forums which say it is a mechatronics issue, other's have said it is a characteristic of the DSG, which I struggle to believe. I had previously called my local independent (who seemed disinterested) and then the Audi main dealer who in turn said they would have to strip the gearbox etc etc in the first instance (at huge cost!) I then tried John Austin in Colchester who basically said go straight to ATS in Mersea. When speaking to Gary at ATS he basically diagnosed the fault over the phone. Even better, they managed to get most of the cost covered by my third party warranty! The effort they put in with repairing the car and ensuring the warranty company came to the party was outstanding. The car now drives perfectly, and better than my wife's 2 year old Audi S-tronic!
