    We had a really great experience with Chris and ashridge motors. After weeks of looking for a new car we have been to main dealers and vehicle groups to see what was presented to us were cars not viewing ready dirty inside and out, rude and quite frankly people that tried to push us into buying cars, but the wasn’t the case with ashridge motors. The car is amazing my girlfriend is more than happy with it, and we was presented with an amazing deal aswell.     I brought a lovely Audi A5 Sportback just under 3 months ago now. The whole experience was great, stress free and simple. Chris was a delight to deal with and a true gent. Pricing was very competitive also. Once getting the car fully looked over by my mechanic he just found a couple of bits that needed doing. HOWEVER this is all covered by the 3 months RAC warranty so that's a big bonus. Not all cars are perfect and with it being 2nd hand I can appreciate some bits need fixing. Would definitely do business with again.

    Unfortunately, this is a negative review as I haven’t had a very good experience. I called twice on the 14/04/2023 to make an appointment to view the vehicle, a Tesla advertised for £27,000. I was asked if I’d like to pay the £500.00 deposit to hold the vehicle which I did as they appeared to be a genuine dealer on Auto Trader. I attended on the 16/04/2023 to view the car with Sammy. Upon inspection and before driving it I found the back seat leather to be badly damaged, made far worse by a poor attempt to repair it. I brought this to Sammy’s attention and she was also surprised, I asked why I wasn’t told about this before paying a deposit. I was informed by her colleague upon return that the price of the car took the damaged back seat into account. Then why wasn’t I informed before paying the deposit 2 days before ? I advised Sammy that I should have been told upon paying a deposit and I’d like it repaired before taking the car. Unfortunately they don’t have anyone who can fix the leather seat, therefore I said I can get it fixed and we negotiated a small discount after the usual “I’ll ask my Boss game”. Not ideal but these things happen. I later looked at the Auto Trader photos again quickly but the damage can’t be seen in the photos taken due to the angle(s)/distance. I drove the vehicle and although it was very nice although the steering pulled constantly to the left. I was assured this would be rectified when the MOT was carried out. I accepted the vehicle on this basis and arranged to collect it on 20/04/2023. I was told however I would need to make full payment within 24 hours of collecting the vehicle, which I did. Upon collection of the vehicle on 20/04/2023 Sammy was unavailable so I was handed the key by a male colleague. The gentleman asked me for my full contact details and handed me the one key with a Receipt. He informed me that they had taxed the vehicle for me so I’m all good to go. On the 26/04/2023 I emailed Sammy, to which I didn’t receive a reply, asking if they had completed the DVLA online transfer as I still hadn’t received the V5 Document. I emailed 2 more times before calling Sammy to chase up as I still hadn’t heard anything. I informed Sammy that I was very unhappy with their conduct and asked who the owners of the business were, although I had already obtained this information from company’s house. She didn’t know, which I thought was strange. Sammy did however direct me to their website to make a complaint. I was called back within minutes from the gentleman that I collected the vehicle from. It was at this time he informed me that the details I gave him upon collection were actually for a V62 Application as they didn’t have a Log Book. Surely I should have been told that when I initially inquired or viewed the vehicle. It now appears I have a long wait for a V5 to be issued to me from DVLA. Luckily I had done an online HPI check upon purchase so I made every effort to ensure the dealer had a right to sell it. I am also currently unable to secure the vehicle with a PIN to drive, nor can I transfer the car ownership to my Tesla Account until a V5 arrives in my name. This apparently can take up to 6 weeks, and then a further 7 days for Tesla to make a transfer. What concerns me is how could they have Taxed the vehicle without a V5? I even thanked the gentleman upon collection for taxing the vehicle and commented that “it was free anyway as fully electric”. I later found it was actually taxed on 01/04/2023, 2 weeks before I first inquired about the car. I have now arranged for the back seat leather to be repaired/replaced, however the steering still pulls to the left which I was assured by Sammy was taken care of. I will have this checked by my own local Garage now. No doubt this negative review will be replied to in the usual manner that they have done nothing wrong. I feel they should have advised me they didn’t have a V5 for the vehicle (as there could have been outstanding finance among other things), the DVLA actually advise against purchasing a vehicle without one!
