If you value the life of your loved one do not place them in this home. Care staff do try but nursing totally inadequate. Uncaring attitude.

It doesn't deserve one star, don't send your loved ones here unless you want them neglected at every level, no staff, no care, dirty. Next step is CQC to report it

My mother was in Was in Queens Hospital and transferred to Ashbrook nursing home for care Tuesday, the 12th of April 2022. The home is very basic, however I cannot praise the nursing staff ,the care workers,The cleaners, the activity leaders & the administration team enough. They really do care. My experience so far of this home is very positive I just wish my mum’s room had a shower so that I could give her a shower. If she stays in this nursing home I hope that we might be able to transfer to a room with bathing facilities. My mother has dementia and was very scared to move away from her family. The nurse hyacinth was very reassuring and gave me no doubt that she would be looked after well.

Please do not allow your loved one to go here the home is very much understaffed and they are unable to cope with the needs of the residents. This is relevant to my experience on the 2nd floor. Their ratio of staff to patients is in need of adjustment as they have many failings, including security issues. The staff do their best but the Home needs to be reviewed by the appropriate Care authorities immediately before something else happens. A very dear parent of mine was discharged from Hospital to here, without my authorisation and without being able to view beforehand and was only in the Home for four days and through their negligence and neglect ended up in Hospital and subsequently died 10 days later. FOUR DAYS she was in there!! That says it all.

My sister who was in her early 40s had a stroke 3 years ago and needed assistance with her care due to left sided weakness and she placed in the home. She died of pulmonary embolism few days after a successful reconstruction of craniotomy. I still blame myself for her death as she told me not to sent her back to the home after the surgery because she had witnessed people dying like flies. I sent her back to the home hoping to look for another home later. Unfortunately, she died couple weeks afterwards. Some of the staff were amazing but the manager was horrible. I will not recommend to anyone!

Dad's been in for two weeks and the improvement from hospital to now is amazing. Staff are helpful and friendly and genuinely seem to care. Rooms are nice and cosy, but still well equipped, plenty for residents to do, should they choose too. Dad hasn't moaned about the food, so it must be good!!!! Very clean and well organised, strict measures in place for visiting in regards to covid. I'm very happy with the care and tlc he is being given.

My 94 year old Nan has been in the care home for one week now, and I am quite happy with the care and attention she is getting from the staff. The home smells clean and sterile upon arrival, and as far as care homes go, this is one of the best I've visited. I've tasted my Nan's dinner and the food is pretty decent too.
