Supermarket itself ok but definitely have cut back on lines and choice of products with regular gaps on the shelves and a lot of old favourites no longer available. It's getting quite annoying now. The ASDA App is useless as it just keeps asking for your password that you can no longer remember because you followed common sense and put in a Google suggested hard to remember one which by default, ARE HARD TO REMEMBER!!! It doesn't seem to accept any saved passwords so absolutely pointless at the till, even if the checkout assistant remembers to prompt you before they start to process your purchases. MY REAL GRIPE is with the online ordering system. We used to order from ASDA on a regular basis without any problems, especially for the heavy stuff as we don't drive. A while back the government brought in some new security measures for online payments forcing the banks and retailers to do better checks on transactions, all well and good. We have not had any problems with other online retailers except for some British supermarkets, ASDA in particular. We compile an order , pick a delivery slot and pay by debit card, order goes through, all fine and dandy. Then, a while later the order is rejected because ASDA cannot collect payment???. OVER AND OVER AGAIN. We have talked to our bank and the card provider and both say it is not a problem at our or their end and that at best guess it is because ASDA have not updated their methods for collecting payments EVEN NOW, MONTHS LATER. I have contacted ASDA's ""customer service " (a misnomer if ever I heard one), on several occasions only to be constantly asked to repeat myself by people with Filipino or South African accents who are barely understandable themselves who then pass me on to their supervisors who then proceed to ask the same questions all over again, put me on hold for five minutes while they "contact their manager" then disconnect the calls because they have no idea how to solve the problem. No joy from this bunch of clowns at all. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am just trying to find out why something that used to work for us without any problems now no longer works. SORT IT OUT ASDA! Update... As you can see by the reply from ASDA they said that they would look into the matter. Absolutely no help at all. Problem still not solved. Gave us a £10 online voucher though... To be used while ordering online... On orders that won't go through because of a problem at their end... ??? HA HA HA! Hilarious! Nice one ASDA! ****wits!

X4 Self checkouts that only allow cash where one side states they accept both?! Not only is this misrepresentation, but also discriminatory. Liable for prosecution. Forcing people to use card replacing/retiring most staff is discrimination. Not everyone wants, can use card. Cash is king. Cashless societies are dangerous and don't hold value. You've been warned. Fkin useless bunch a knts!

Just want to mention a particular member of staff, Oliver! He has served me a few times on the tobacco kiosk. Thank you! For being a helpful, happy and cheerful person, and for making me smile. I hope that Asda realise the difference you make to their customers. Please don't let anyone take your happy!
