I have been on multiple trips with Ascend, and can honestly say the experiences have been absolutely life-enhancing. The way that Shane briefs you on what is to come, shares his knowledge and instructs clients is astounding. His patience with me, someone with so little experience and a lower fitness level, is calming and appreciated. The encouragement Ascend provided allowed me to push through barriers and witness stunning vistas and accomplish feats I never thought possible. Also, Shane's genuine excitement for the craft is so utterly infectious that I have found myself joining him multiple times, and have begun to build out my own set of kit. Our Lake District, Wales and Scotland trips contain memories i'll cherish forever, all thanks to Shane and Ascend. I plan to sign up for many more trips in the future!

Skilled mountain leader with vast knowledge of navigation, hazard perception, environmental assessment and mountaineering practices. We completed both a 2 day hike around the peak District and 2 days of mountaineering around Penygader, each with a discreet campsite. I felt challenged by both experiences in a safe and enjoyable way.
