Dreadful vets if I could give zero stars I would, my rat was dying and I was met by a vet who did not care for my rat and pretty much told me how he didn’t have a clue what to do as he had only done 1 module on rodents, I also had a poorly cat that needed a surgery I couldn’t afford or he needed to be put to sleep they wouldn’t allow me in the room to be with my cat when he was out to sleep and they only cared about the money after strictly care about money and the patients next I understand it’s a business but these animals no matter how small or big are our best friends and should be treated as such

I had used this vet for a number of years for all of my animals, it seemed almost every visit I had there was something I was not happy with. I have have taken many of my small animals there and got the same diagnosis and medication every time and then they have passed or had to be PTS, it wasn’t until I changed vet I realised some of them could have been saved. The final straw was having my sweet westie PTS, the experience was horrendous, we was made to wait as they were running late in the busy waiting room for 40 minutes with a huge dog constantly barking at my sick girl, I then had to leave her petrified to be cannulated and when we was allowed back in there was a miss communication with the vet I am sure due to language barrier and he took her life before we had even had the chance to say goodbye, she didn’t go peaceful as suggested she crashed to the floor and was gone, there were no sleeping injection before hand which I thought was always part of the process. we was told to strip her of her personal items such as collar and blanket which I said I wanted to leave her with but the response was ‘take it she won’t need them, it will only go in the bin’ the body bag was brought out before we left the room and then we was told where we could pay, no time to straighten myself out before walking back into the busy waiting room to complete the transaction because that’s all she was to them... a transaction. I was so heartbroken I called the crem and asked to collect her ashes direct from them as I couldn’t bear the thought of her going back there. I have never stopped feeling guilty for her last moment being so terrible for her. I have changed vets now and been through similar situations only they have been handled with so much more care and I have had so much support. I can’t believe I stayed with Arundles for so long.
