I took my recently acquired great grandfathers Dennison pocket watch to Gary a couple of weeks ago. The watch hadn't been working for 40 years, it was extremely dirty, had no hands and was missing the front glass. I collected the watch from Gary last night and was absolutely lost for words as to how good it looks. I was quite overwhelmed as it's the only thing I have of his. The watch is stunning, apart from a couple of little nicks here and there it looks like new. Many thanks Gary.

I dropped off a long case clock mechanism in November 2019 for Gary to overhaul and repair as necessary. The clock was returned looking lovely and clean, with a fairly large bill in the hundreds of pounds. It worked on and off for around three months, and despite meticulous levelling and setting the beat evenly, the clock always stopped after a few hours. Gary showed some interest initially in helping via texts, then diminishing interest in having the clock back, despite repeated requests for help, and then stopped replying to my texts and calls. The last text reply stated that he had no idea why it wasn't working. I have just taken the clock to another restorer who found many items that should have been attended to that had clearly not been looked at properly, along with rust in the completely dry centre pivot bearing, worn pinions, no evidence of any lubrication, and a few items that were mechanically incorrect.

Nothing but praise for Gary since he started looking after my clocks. I wouldn’t want to use anyone else - his work is high quality and nothing is too much trouble. He takes great care in his work and provides valuable insight into what does and what does not need doing to keep my collection in good working order at a sensible cost. I’ve even bought a few clocks from him. He has a drop off and collection service near Hampton which is very useful but it’s not too far to run down to the coast to visit his workshop. All in all a highly recommended business, offering great value for money for a first class service and a great person to do business with

Very nice guy, however he didn’t solve my clock issue. Still paid £50 and the clock is just as it was. He did say it ran a minute or two behind still each day, that didn’t seem a problem but it’s way off that. Ignores my emails to look at it again.

Gary took my carriage clock which had more or less been written off by another clock mender and restored it magnificently at a very reasonable cost. 100% recommend.

Fantastic service. I cannot recommend Gary highly enough, he repaired my cuckoo clock in just a few days and kept me updated throughout with the work that needed to be done and a quotation. Very good price for the work. If you need your clock repaired, look no further than Gary. Thank you!
