Very good contemporary art gallery on the ground floor of a housing block on the Aylesbury Estate. The gallery has a number of exhibitions each year. The exhibition I attended most recently showed work by Anna Brass and Lottie Stoddart and was called Clod. The Artist Studio Company (ASC) is a London based registered charity founded in 1995. Its core aims are to support artists and makers, promote the arts and educate the public in the arts.

These studios along with Peter the owner are needing to go down in the pit!! They have no respect for people and are highly unprofessional. they ignore emails and cannot answer a simple query with kindness and efficiency. They left a leak in my studio room for 3 months before they tried to get it fixed and when I made a reminder email to them they simply use a rude disrespectful tone and blame me for moving in knowing it was already there! They put me in danger knowing that breathing in damp is dangerous and they refused to help me they were so rude and thought they were too important to help a paying customer- someone that actually pays their bills! And then they decided to hand me an eviction notice simply because they didn’t like the way I handled my complaint!! Haha stay away from them they need to go down in court! They have caused me loss of custom in my business and are also trying to bring shame on me! I absolutely hate their behaviour! May they fall into the pit they try to dig for others!! Especially me! 🙏

I have been renting a studio at the ASC Bow site for the past few months and I have had such a wonderful experience. It is without fail the best studio I have ever rented in London. ASC have been incredibly generous, supportive and attentive to the needs of the artists that have been financially affected by the pandemic. I have been lucky enough to receive the hardship funds they have offered, so I have had half price studio rent, which has been a huge relief. They have provided artists with lots of information about other help we might be eligible for, they really do care about their tenants. There is a great sense of community, the communal areas are very well maintained and clean, the building is nice and warm and I am so happy with my painting studio. There is a project space we can use too. The staff are very kind and always so prompt with any queries I might have, for instance I requested an extra light in my painting studio and it was done immediately and I was even given the option of a daylight bulb if I so preferred.

I have been renting a studio in the Bow site for over two years now. I have found ASC to be supportive and informative, and the studios to be warm, safe and a great community of artists. The studios and communal areas are clean and bright and well maintained. As an artist and freelance photographer, at the outbreak of Covid-19 I lost all of my freelance work- 75% of my income. ASC has worked hard to secure funding which allows it to in turn to support its artists. I have been lucky enough so far to have benefitted from three of the four 'Hardship Funds' and hope to secure more support until life and work is able to get going somewhere near what we knew as 'normal.' I would have most definitely lost my studio had it not been for these hardship funds and in turn not been able to do much of my freelance work. I am grateful for the support ASC has given me before during and continues to give me as one of its artists.
