Excellent value for money, stayed 2 nights. Basic, functional rooms with lots of character, and very high ceilings. Easy walk along the River into the City Centre. Sainsbury's Local very close for snacks and supplies. Walkability: Easy and pleasant walk to City Centre along the river.

Great place to stay when visiting York. Lovely rooms, great breakfasts and the staff were very welcoming. A lovely walk down the riverside to get in to town which only took about 10 minutes with a few pubs on the way. Couldn't have asked for a better location or place to stay. Would definitely recommend and stay there again. Walkability: The Lighthorseman is within walking distance of the centre, only took about 10 minutes
