Outstanding Teacher! The classes have been a brilliant experience! I was a complete beginner and every week, I made note of how I was both slowly and speedily developing my skills. Jen has taught me to pay attention to quality work and though my excitable sewing bunny self can often get too ambitious with my projects, Jen has a very kindly and humorous way that helps be get back to form. I love that! What she knows about sewing is encyclopaedic. A true teacher — highly skilled, very warm, very generous and she’s infectious with her love of the textile arts. — Ava Mikael

I attended the evening version of Jen's Beginner Sewing Course over six weeks from January to February. We spent half our classes learning the ins and outs of sewing, starting at the very beginning with winding bobbins and threading the machine, to hems and seams, all the way to techniques for inserting a zipper. The other half of our classes were focused on projects, we made three pieces (that we could take home and use!), one in each class. Jen was incredibly knowledgeable. It was so valuable to hear all the tips and tricks she's accumulated in her time sewing and teaching, but she was also a patient and thorough instructor. I enjoyed my time in class, and I'm proud to say I went and bought a sewing machine for myself at the end of the course so I could continue learning and creating! I would definitely recommend this course to anyone with an interest in sewing, particular if you are a complete beginner.

I have recently attended the Beginner’s Sewing Course with Artisan Stitch. Our teacher Jen had the patience of a saint coping with my errors. But in the end I felt competent and so happy with my progress that I have signed up for her more advanced sewing course. Thank you Jen.

I went along to the Beginners Sewing Course XL in January. It was a small class which allowed Jen to give each student the necessary attention. We were taught about the sewing machine, tools and various sewing techniques. By the end of the course, I came away with 3 items I had sewn by myself with the new knowledge. Jen is an excellent teacher who is patient and clearly has a passion for sewing. I intend to return for the dressmaking course in the future. I highly recommend booking classes at Artisan Stitch if you want to learn to sew or improve your skills.

Attended a cushion making course which was excellent. We all left the studio having completed a beautiful piped cushion using techniques which would be hard to understand without a very patient teacher. Facilities are great and organisation really helpful. Would totally recommend.

Having just finished a three day summer school in sewing basics I can thoroughly recommend the experience. I still have lots to learn on my sewing journey, but I now have more confidence in using my machine, and feel enthusiastic about starting some new projects with the knowledge I now have.

My daughter and I enjoyed the introductory day and came away feeling confident in our new found skills and use a sewing machine properly. We both felt very proud of what we made in the class. Enjoyable day with no pressure and Jen was very happy to share her considerable knowledge. Thanks Jen!
