FAQ

What is the level of scare in your haunted house?

Our haunted house, Arreton Manor, is designed to be a truly frightening experience. We use a variety of scare tactics, from jump scares to creepy atmospheres, to create a truly immersive and scary experience for our visitors.

How long does the experience typically last?

The experience at Arreton Manor typically lasts around 45 minutes to an hour. However, this can vary depending on the size of your group and how quickly you move through the attraction.

Are there any age restrictions for visitors?

Due to the intense nature of our haunted house, we do not recommend it for children under the age of 14. However, we do not have a strict age restriction and leave it up to parents to decide if their child is ready for the experience.

Are there any safety precautions in place for visitors?

We take the safety of our visitors very seriously at Arreton Manor. We have trained staff members positioned throughout the attraction to ensure that everyone is safe and that the experience runs smoothly. We also have emergency procedures in place in case of any incidents.

Can visitors opt out of certain scare elements if they become too intense?

Unfortunately, we do not offer the option to opt out of certain scare elements. Our haunted house is designed to be a fully immersive experience, and we believe that opting out of certain aspects would detract from this. However, our staff members are trained to handle any situations if a visitor becomes too overwhelmed or frightened.

Stayed in the Nook for a single night, and then wanted to stay for more. Nathalie was a wonderful host. I’d return to see the gardens and the amazing house in the summer. A memorable stay, and one I hope to repeat.

It was great on one hand and really very poor on another. I am not sure if I caught Nathelie Pulford the owner on a bad day or bad few weeks. My wife and I had the most amazing wedding day , bright sunshine and friends. The location and history are second to none and exactly what we were looking for, close to the church, car parking (although very unused due to the host making up her own rules a lot), bar included, maze garden for the kids, really pleasant outlook over towards Arreton downs. We had a great day. Nathelie can be a very poor communicator, talks a lot of irrelevant stuff and struggles to see your vision and make the best day of your life about the couple. Unfortunately it still is all about Nathelie. Our first trip there, there was a dead rat in the courtyard, which I thought with a bit of bleach we could work around, we painted our vision clearly, although I had to find a gardener to fulfil that vision at the begrudging Nathelie Pulfords resistance and insistence the vision would come to be, she time and time again gave me reason to doubt her, communication rants and tight restrictions although “giving us the blank canvas” Thankfully, on one hand, we had saving grace when our private hired kitchen provided too small for the job with over 175 guests to feed, Nathelie did say “yes with a smile” to allowing us to cook the remaining guests food in the kitchen next to The Terrace room where we would serve it from - however, This later provided costly as Nathelie took the whole of our damages deposit fee over £1000 to cover these costs and other bewildering costs. I would say after speaking to many local friends in Island Business and wedding associates that maybe Barton Manor would have been first choice- at the same cost of £3,500 needing up costing us in access of £4500 Barton Manor has much more to offer, and no doubt you’ll have an easier time organising and less stress. Location as we thought 4/5 Host (I wouldn’t fall for it) 1/5 Thanks to all that came and enjoyed the day, it was special and the one of only two sunny days in the whole of August !! Thank God X

What a place!! Wonderful house, location, accommodation, host, cat and dogs. We had a fabulous stay in September in The Nook (after having to reschedule our initial booking due to covid) and left with heavy hearts, vowing to return. That vow will now be fulfilled next June having just booked our second visit. Highly recommended for lovers of history, lovers of nature, lovers of privacy, lovers of quality accommodation..... or just lovers!
