Filled with locals, which is always a good sign. The food was phenomenal, but the cocktails really made the meal.

This restaurant serves traditional Scottish food and is perfect for toursist wishing to sample the local cuisine. The portions are large and plentiful. The waiters do feel a little awkward or uncomfortable and one struggled to answer my question about portion sizes. Whilst the food was nice, and home cooked, it was a little plain for the cost. I had the chicken breast in a honey mustard sauce and opted for a side of dauphinois potatoes. The dauphinois potato was more like a potato fondant and although it was pleasant enough, it wasn't what I wanted. Overall, the food was nice but it wasn't anything to write home about. With so many other offerings in Glasgow, I probably wouldn't return. I would recommend this restaurant for tourists or those unfamiliar with Scottish cuisine. If you are a local, I would suggest going elsewhere.

The food at the Ardnamurchan was excellent. There were several large parties that were booked all at once so the kitchen was extremely slow. Not the waitstaff’s fault mind you but it did take over 2 hours to get our mains.. Everyone said the food was great. I really enjoyed the smoked trout and smoked salmon appetizer and venison stew was also excellent!! Others enjoyed the langoustines and lamb shank!

At first daunting as I came in as a backpacker and everyone else was looking rather posh, but they treated me just like any customer and even let me stay longer after my meal to do my admin! I had Isle of Skye Langoustines which were so interesting to eat and you are provided with a shell-cracker to remove the juicy bits from the claws as well. I came here to also try Cullen Skink as well, a traditional Scottish soup with fresh fish inside. Great tastes!!!
