what can i say, i spent 15 months at ardenleigh hospital and never made much progress there. i'm now in a different low secure and getting the help i need. there were a few lovely staff who i will remember and i'm thankful for them but overall my time there was horrible, traumatic and unhelpful. many unhelpful comments were made to me over my time there and at times i felt hugely invalidated and sometimes even neglected. the staff clearly have no experience on working with patients with eating disorders, and multiple times when i was at general hospital i was told 'you don't want to come back to the ward because if you did then you would eat' and once even suggested i WANTED to be on ng feeds, which is the complete opposite of what i want. i am so grateful to have moved hospitals because now i'm getting better, and the help i have needed is finally being given to me. i do praise certain staff for helping me so thank you for them :)

This place is terrible just so terrible most staff look for trouble only a few are nice not a nice environment always exposed to faulty fire alarms, panic alarms self harm serious attacks on staff and young people. Abusive staff, children receiving bruises and injuries that are not what one would expect from a hospital setting. All bruises and injuries are explained away by stating " it's because the child is ill" . Chemical injections used to render child defenceless. Ham sandwiches offered to Muslim child (a form of torture); children tasered; restraints used by untrained staff; children taken to areas of unit where there are no cameras therefore abuse not recorded. YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO TO THIS PLACE IT ISINT EVEN WORTH 1 star
