Architecture For London designed us a loft conversion which cannot pass building regulations. Their design was not deemed safe and in accordance with current building regulations. In addition, our architect left mid project (with no given notice) and were not assigned another one due to their 'lack of resources'. I highly recommend you do not use Architecture For London for your project.

Working with Architecture for London has been an absolutely delight. They are proactive and solution-oriented and have an incredible ability to liase with our builders to ensure the project is running smoothly and make excellent decisions in a timely manner. They are also extremely knowledgeable around energy efficiency and are always thinking about the best interests (costs or otherwise) for the customer. Any refurbishment is typically stressful and Architecture for London removed a lot of that stress for us. We would highly recommend them!'

Their strong relationship with Westminster Council meant that they had a nice dialogue with planners so we didn’t have to guess what they wanted. The home that AFL designed for us utilises every square inch of our property to meet the needs of our family of five. We particularly like the kitchen AFL designed which abounds with countless thoughtful details.

We have worked with Architecture for London colleagues for over two years on redesigning our 1830s house in Islington. We wanted to open up the space, flood it with light, and provide canvas for the numerous artifacts we had accumulated over our 25 years travels on four continents. Architecture for London were the designers and managed the project. While the brief was simple, the execution was rather complex as the project required piling, stripping to bare bricks, flipping rooms, removing chimney breasts as well as negotiating with the local Council for permissions, etc. Some works were delayed due to Brexit and Covid-19. We also worked on a relatively small budget and this required the architects to come up with clever solutions without compromising on quality. As project managers, the architects also lead on all discussions and negotiations with the building company. While having professional project managers added significantly to the total cost of the project, we are convinced it was necessary - we couldn't have done without this service! We are very pleased with the project outcomes. The result is a 'wow' factor interior, with many unique features, specifically designed to match the age and the feel of the house. I was a little worried that an architect designed house would be too neat and dull but it is far from it. The house is exactly what we had in mind and more. Working with Architecture for London has been a good experience. They are a very flexible company, they listened to our, often rather vague ideas, went out of their way to accommodate numerous changes in the specifications and have always been at the end of the telephone. We worked throughout the Covid-19 lockdowns, always sticking to the government guidelines. Architecture for London are a group of very clever, sophisticated architects, who turned our house into a light, calm, elegant space that brings us joy. Our small Victorian townhouse has now a new lease of life combining the best of tradition and contemporary design.
