Not great for kayaking when I was there due to the height of the bank from the water. I suspect the level was rather lower than usual due to the lack of recent rainfall. It made getting out and back in harder and less dignified for my, admittedly not very supple, 67 year old body. Great for boats that could actually go through it rather than round it.

It's a lock on a canal, what can I say? Water flows into the lock to raise boats and drains to drop them. Watching paint dry is just as exciting.
