Just returned from a 3 night stay. We booked a last minute getaway the night before and was swiftly contacted the morning of our break by the receptionist team asking what time we were arriving and if we had any questions. Arriving at the country park we checked in with no problems and was directed to our lodge which was in the woods area of the park. We parked our car in the car park and a member of staff transported all our luggage for us in a converted golf buggy which we thought was a nice touch and saved us having to go back and forth to our car with heavy bags. We unpacked and had a short wonder around the park with our dog which is very well maintained and kept to a high standard. We had a great experience from booking until we left this morning. We will be booking again for another trip later on in the year.

I can't say I have ever stayed anywhere and have been glad to go home. What a terrible experience. Firstly, on our arrival the log Briner was broken and were informed we had to rely on the under floor heating to heat the pod. We then noticed the above kitchen lights were broken leaving no light in that area to cook, we had to balance a phone inside the cabinet to even be able to see and the fridge door was hanging off with a large gap at the top leaving it useless(these were minor details that would have been completely overlooked if it hadn't of got worse) during the evening the hottub and some electric had cut off leaving us unable to use the hottub and the pod slowly getting colder overnight. Someone had to come 3 times to reset this in our 3 night stay. To top it all off at 11 on our third night the whole of the power went off after the hottub and heating had tripped once again. (After it had been "fixed" during the day) this left us freezing cold in complete darkness in the middle of the night and no hot water. We had to call the emergency number who moved us to another cabin, something that should have been done on our arrival when they were aware of the issues of lighting and heating ( which to add they were already aware of and left us to stay there anyway). To top everything off our deposit was kept for extra cleaning due to some pots being left in the sink, a dirty towel and a couple of squashed raspberries on the floor (nothing the company could not clean, and something we were unable to clean as there was no power for hot water and we were left in complete darkness, a complete unsafe environment). Overall a complete joke, we were left in a cabin they were aware had issues and needed maintenance, it was massively unsafe and not up to a living standard whatsoever. If we had been moved in the first place I wouldn't not have an issue. They were completely aware of the issues we were to face. I am so glad I am home, we have come back feeling much more stressed than when we first went... Waste of money.

This is by far my favourite lodge I’ve been to! I went with my husband and spent 2 nights in a lodge by the woods. Upon arrival, the receptionist staff were extremely friendly & informative and offered a complementary drink at the G&Tea house (alcohol and none alcoholic option). The stay was absolutely perfect in every way, the location was on point and we were able to have a lovely drive to Whitby. The lodges are stunning, modern and most importantly spotless! They’re very spacious too and the beds? They’re soooo comfy! They’re also very equipped, you have everything you need, plus an out door bbq area with a sink and fridge. I love that the lodge (and hot tub) was so lovely that I didn’t want to go out to places much, our 2 nights were simply not long enough. If it wasn’t for our departure day being Mother’s Day, we were going to book another night! We were so gutted to leave! Ah well, we will definitely be returning but for longer, perhaps 4 nights would be perfect!

Currently staying here for New Year. Our lodge is beautiful. I love the little touches like the Christmas tree, Christmas window stickers, pint of milk and a bottle of prosseco in the fridge. Also, the decor and furnishings. We go away every New Year and no other place has done this. Usually, we stay with Darwen Escapes. Our lodge is well equipped with everything you need. It is Spotless!!! The hot tub was brilliant and we got plenty of use out of it. Location is very quiet with views of the hills. We have visited the G&tea house onsite and had a lovely cook breakfast. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend. We are staying in Wagtail Lodge. Edit: visited G&Tea House for our evening meal. Amazing food and staff extremely friendly. Thank you Angrove Country Park

Last day today is a 7 night break. Just what we needed to unwind. The lodge is stunning, clean and high spec. Great outside kitchen. Everything is here that you may need. The site is quiet, respected by everyone staying. Our dogs are safe and plenty of other dogs, all week behaved, odd bark too each other when passing. Location is ideal, we've been all over the place and had some great days out. The park staff are friendly and maintain the grounds daily. It's not rammed with lodges either. We will deviated return one day.

We had a great weekend here with some really good weather. Unfortunately no matter how good our time at the park was, it was soured due to the theft by the staff at Angrove. We left a full bottle of Grey Goose Vodka (unopened) in the top draw of the freezer. When we got home and realised neither of us had remembered to pack this. We phoned the resort to ask and amazingly “it was never there”. We would never stay here again, it’s only a £40 bottle of vodka, but now we have no trust in the staff. What if it had on been a wedding ring or the kids iPad.

A lovely park in an idyllic setting with far reaching countryside views. The lodges are all nicely spaced out so feel very private Within walking distance of Great Ayton in one direction and Stokesley in the other. You can walk direct from the park on a public footpath. Nearest supermarket is the Coop in Great Ayton. It would be nice if there were basic essentials like bread milk eggs etc available to buy on site like there are at Aysgarth. The on site restaurant/bar is lovely, if a little expensive, but great that it is there so you don't have to drive every time you want to eat out. My only criticism of the site is that all the roads/paths are gravel which is bad to walk/drive on and your shoes get filthy I expect that when the site is complete that the roads will be tarmac. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and will be back.
