Absolutely stunning walks but if you want some peace and tranquility forget it!! Last few times we've been there's been some very big boys (men) playing with their toys ie:- radio controlled speed boats in the lake, the noise is horrendous!! I'm not quite sure why they are given keys to drive up to the lake and polute it with diesel Last year one of the 'Peter pans' crashed his boat and broke it leaving an oily residue in the lake. A week later we went and there were signs telling people not to enter the lake or allow dogs in the water as it was contaminated Such a shame to ruin such a beautiful place

Found this spot when reviewing our route on a long journey. It provided a useful break and leg stretch with the opportunity to see the wild ponies of the new forest. The pond is just a short walk from the car park.

Such a beautiful little spot. The views are incredible. There were no benches round the lake but we made do with a pile of rock towards the end of the lake. It was very calming to sit for 10 minutes while my partner watched birds over the hills.
