My handicap in early 2019 was as low as 9 however over the last 2 1/2 years I had totally lost my way, I couldn’t get off the tee, when I did I was constantly hitting a horrible low pull hook followed by a high slice! I hadn’t managed to break 90 for mote than 18 months! I spoke with Andrew at Pyrford Lakes (who had previously coached my 15 year old son who was new to the game, and now at the age of 18 plays off of 4 and assists the professionals at our local golf club), and Andrew suggested he had a look at my swing. Within 30 minutes of lesson 1, the hook had gone, and I was hitting a much higher, straighter flight, after just 1/2 minor tweaks that Andrew suggested, he wanted to keep it simple and leave it at that and said let’s meet again in 2/3 weeks for step 2 - over the 20 day period I started to play a lot better, I was now starting to fade/slice the odd shot and Andrew said he wanted to see that happen as he could correct that in lesson 2. Lesson 2 - just 2 more minor additions were recommended and I was starting to laugh between shots as it was going so well. After the lesson I went straight out and played 18 holes at Pyrford Lakes and had my best round for more than 3 years - I shot 80, I had 2 birdies on my card and if it wasn’t for a horrible 8 I would have shot closer to 76/77. In just 2 lessons with Andrew I have improved by more than 10 shots and I feel my game is as good as ever. If you’re struggling with your own game I’d strongly recommend you make contact with Andrew, for me he made it really easy to understand and make 3/4 changes within my swing that have made a significant difference in no time at all”. I have been having lessons with Andrew over the past year (lockdowns permitting) and I can comfortably say that he has hugely improved both my game and my understanding of what I am doing wrong when I get out onto the course. Very knowledgeable, supportive and patient I would think that his teaching skills would benefit all levels and all requirements - whether you need to sort out a specific problem or whether your need covers your whole game. Importantly he conveys to you both his love of golf and his love of teaching. I believe I enjoy the coaching as much as playing a course. That will say something for his skills.
