Disappointed! Rang the garage today to enquire about a car and was told it was it excellent with little marks for age. Drive over hour and half to get to dealer only to find a massive scratch across drivers door amongst plenty of other scratches all over it. Was told they would ‘touch it in’ but couldn’t re-spray the panel. Not what I would describe as ‘good for age’. Also told that would need to pay extra £300 for warranty and prep of car before delivery- on top of the advertised price! Here’s an idea - spend £300 to get ‘showroom ready’ before you put on forecourt & describe a car as excellent condition! Also described as 2017 but turns out it’s 2016. Waste of time, waste of petrol, walked away swiftly!

I bought a Mercedes C220 2014 from Anchor cars in Reading in Jun 2020. Initial customer service was great. The car was advertised as having full dealership service history. However after I made up my mind to purchase, i was told that the car is missing 2 services but that in these cars only the last service counts. After driving the car for less than a year, the turbo started leaking oil. Mercedes told me that it's most likely because it missed services at recommended intervals which caused the sludge and blockage in the engine resulting in turbo leak. I contacted Anchor cars several time who didn't accept any responsibility. I ended up paying nearly £4000 for the full repair. I was let down by Anchor cars for misleading and false advertisement so do not recommend them. I have contacted the motor ombudsman and Auto trader and will continue to pursue as this is a clear breach of trading standards.

Always be suspicious of the 5 star review! I’ve tried to find every last fault but there simply aren’t any, Aston the salesman was simply great, no pressure, we bought two cars and he dealt with four excited customers. We bought two Land Rovers, an Evouque and a Discovery Sport. My Sport arrived on time and in immaculate condition. Top marks!

We had a fabulous experience selling our car to Anchor Cars. Right from word go the communication was excellent and appropriate steps followed in timely manner to make the entire process smooth and seamless. All the people we interacted with including Dave who came down to collect the car and Seb the transport manager have been extremely professional. Credit to the CEO Greg for setting up an excellent team and process around him!! Will be happy to do business with Anchor Cars again in the future!

Travelled for two hours to view a Nissan Leaf listed for sale. The car was not remotely as described on the listing or when I telephoned the day before our visit; had evidently been involved in a minor accident with a poor repair and panel fit was terrible as a result. The salesman we met (Austin) knew little or nothing about the vehicle (or indeed EVs in general), and was not able to answer any of our questions about the car; those he did answer were evidently 'confident bluster' rather than being correct. Describing the negative as well as positive aspects of a second hand vehicle is much more likely to engender trust and prevent wasted time.
