My Mum spent 5 days at this home. She was admitted in a confused delirious condition with the hospital having lost her hearing aides. She had to isolate in a small south facing small room with no real ventilation during a heatwave. Individual carers were kind but It was made clear to me from day one and every day when I visited that followed that mum could not leave her room even to go in the garden. This is contrary to government guidelines which say she should have been supported to go in the garden. Mum became extremely traumatised shouting for help night and day and on day five she had a serious fall in the early hours requiring palliative hip surgery. I was present when she begged to be taken to the door for air that afternoon because humidity in her room was unbearable. Mum can no longer mobilise on her own and they are no longer able to cater for her needs.

What a fantastic home, we are so lucky to have found this place and my Nan is so happy here. There’s always so many different activities happening, there is something for everyone. The staff are so friendly and it’s obvious that they really care about each person living at the home. We found this place on a recommendation and it was the best decision we all made. If you’re thinking about moving a relative here, definitely go and have a look round and read their CQC report and reviews on carehome.co.uk, you won’t be disappointed!

A relative of mine is here a place we found and was happy with. she is always cared for well. The staff are very welcoming and kind. There is always something going on for the residents and relatives to join in with them, if you want. The staff are happy to answer any question or concerns you have nothing is too much and you never feel a burden. She has settled so well in here, something we didn't think would happen

There are many problems at this care home. But I will focus on a problem that can be easily solved. Residents at Beech Hall are provided with sports bottles of water instead of tumblers and pitchers. This may be because management assumes that the bottles will not spill if dropped. This could save staff time with fewer clean ups. The problem is that many older people have arthritis and cannot open these bottles by themselves. I watched many thirsty residents struggle to drink from them. Very few older people have experience with these bottles. Once opened by someone helping them out, the sports bottles are an additional challenge for older people to drink from because the flip top catches on their nose. The solution is to rotate the open flip top to the side. But again, old people may not know this and it is not easy for them to learn, especially if they have dementia. Beech Hall has many people with dementia. Using the sports bottles could be a risk for dehydration at Beech Hall. The use of sports bottles for drinking water for residents is not a good one at Beech Hall and should be changed. I sent this review to Anchor - the management of this care home two months ago but they never responded. Do they care?
