Ian was recommended to me for instructor training as being a ‘bit special’ by a mutual friend. So it has proven to be! His training expertise and knowledge has been thorough & excellent from the first day we first met to explore my thoughts of becoming an instructor . Before meeting Ian I had contacted a national company regarding driver instructor training which looked like a serious contender at the time. However, after a number of meetings with Ian over a number of months exploring all the in’s & outs of instructing as a career (I considered other career at the same time) such as ; my suitability as an instructor ; the processes in qualifying ; Amigos materials & excellent reputation locally; realistic earnings potential ; potential pitfalls and franchise options available I plumped for Amigos I haven’t regretted the decision for one moment. It was clear that I’d get a training program that would be tailored to my individual needs, support would be there whenever required and business would be local which would fit my circumstances perfectly. What followed was the requisite 40hrs in car training learning the syllabus, improving my driving skills to pass part 2, delivering role play lessons as the instructor to Ian and observing live lessons and driving tests with learners & consultations with Amigos Romsey (thanks Tracey!) Throughout, Ian’s knowledge, expertise, endless energy and encouragement has been invaluable in getting me through my Part 2 at the first attempt. His guidance through the bureaucracy and practicalities of setting myself up with my Trainee Instructor’s (Pink) Licence and providing the leads to get me learner facing has been achieved with less fuss and stress than I would have thought possible at the beginning of the process. Putting the instructor training into practise with learners now is incredibly satisfying and the showing the value of putting all the work in to date. I have one further exam to go so I’m not quite finished yet but if the experience of training to date is anything to go on I’m confident that I’m in the best place to achieve a positive result and I’d recommend Ian’s services to anyone considering Driving Instruction as a career. Ian was excellent. Originally learning elsewhere I wasn't progressing very well, so thought I would try another company to see if I was the problem or them. I never looked back. Made really good progress due to back log the wait for my level 2 test had a 3 month waiting list! when I found a last minute cancellation with only an hours notice, Ian helped sort it and consequently passed first time with only three minors. I was over the moon.
