The worst post office in the area. They do not help. Only out to get your money. Would not print anything for me even though online and on labels to print clearly says you can take it to be printed . I now have a parcel circulating with no address because once he took it would not not let me have it back. Also as it's going in the Channel Islands requires extra paper work. Again they would not print this and just put the parcel in the bag. I would suggest going elsewhere if you don't want to feel uncomfortable when they stare at you like you're in the wrong. Edit-reply. You literally took the parcel and when I asked about the customs declaration you refused to help. Knowing it's going to jerseys you should of told me it requires the paper work which was assumed by me that it would be printed also as it states on the order label can be printed at the post office. Maybe because it was closing you just couldn't be bothered to help. The only label I saw you put on was the small label for weight and payment proof.

The woman behind the counter is lovely, however the bloke behind the counter is a miserable, rude, arrogant money scrounging parasite. We send letters/parcels regularly, but he always attempts to over charge until he gets questioned. Never listens to the posting service we request. We always double check the measurements & weight etc of item we are posting, so know exactly what we should be paying...but he always tries to pull a fast one. Won't be using this post office any further and will try to use the online royal mail service as much as possible to avoid giving this jobsworth any money.

On my third and consecutively poor experience at Amesbury post office, I thought it was time to comment. On a previous visit, the gentleman behind the counter insisted that the only method of posting a small parcel (to be signed for) was special delivery. When I challenged this he became angry and rude - and funnily enough I was able to send 2nd class signed for, at half the price (as no value or urgency). On a return visit this week, I asked for assistance on paying for vehicle tax. The documents were snatched out of my hand, and when I couldn’t understand a ‘barked’ instruction from the same gentleman, I politely asked him to repeat it, and again he flashed with a mumbled unclear instruction. At the point of payment, the card machine timed out before I had a chance to put my card in, I asked for it to be reset and entered my card. I didn’t even get the option to put my pin in, before he barked at me and said it wasn’t my card, despite my name in full capitals on the card, then he said it wasn’t a debit card (it was), and then he said that ‘DVLA’ didn’t like my card - despite it being a post office card reader. My account is with a major UK bank- by the way and continued to work elsewhere for the rest of the day. I don’t mind technical problems with equipment, but I do object to an employee or business owner lying or misleading customers. I would hate to think what this intimidating and dishonest behaviour has on vulnerable people who would be placing trust in employees representing the post office and Royal Mail.

Terrible experience at Amesbury post office today, the guy behind the counter tried to upsell the postage that I needed for a medium parcel, first he said £18 then £12, the correct price was £8.05. He was very rude, he came out with usual "I've been doing this for 20 years I think I know what I'm doing" Then he started moaning about the royal mail strikes, quoting three week delivery delay on my item getting to it's destination. I wonder how long this guy has been ripping customers off I fully recommend customers use the Salisbury Waitrose royal mail instead, I know it's a bit further drive but the customer service there is much better

If I could give it no stars I would. The older lady that works in this is so rude and ruined my day! Don’t work with public if you can’t even speak to them nicely. Will never be going there again!
