Lovely pub with friendly and helpful staff. Great beer garden. Didnt have time for food but it looked good! Could have been even better if it had proper bike locking staples. Does have bike storage but can only lock front wheel, no frame... Service : 5/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

Will come back here again and try the Inn next time. I wish I had tried the specials but I couldn’t resist going for the fish and chips and I was not all disappointed. Had it with a dry and crisp glass of Nyetimber Classic Cuvee. Decently clean washroom.

We had a good night staying in the Black Horse. The staff were pleasant. The room was nice. We had the attic room , which was nicely presented, although had very sloping ceilings, and one window looks out on a kitchen vent, so it was a little noisy. However we slept well. The Nespresso was a nice bonus. We ate a delicious bar snack of baked cheese and enjoyed a local beer Walkability: We stayed here while walking the South Downs Way. It is about 15 miles from YHA Truleigh Hill and 20 miles in the other direction to Harting Down car park. The pub is a little way off the SDW.
