AWL supplied us with a 5 leaf bifold door in July 2022. I have to say that AWL were the worst company I have ever dealt with on any purchase I have ever made and I strongly advise people to AVOID THIS COMPANY. Details of my experience is below: In Jan 2022 we started a project to extend the rear of our house to create a new open plan kitchen/dining room with bifold doors opening to a patio. I did significant research on bifold door suppliers and visited AWL factory in Southampton where I was impressed with their setup and the feel of the company. They were reasonably priced, although not the most competitive or best quality doors, but we decided to give them a go as they were expanding their company, the factory manager seemed a very friendly guy, and they seemed very flexible on things they could do (eg different colors, ...). We placed the order in early February and paid a deposit of 2/3rd the price of the doors. We proceeded with our project and brought AWL out to survey the opening on our new build early June (we used AWL fitters to survey/fit the door). Survey went fine, although surveyors were very unclear with the bricklayers on a number of details. Then, 2 weeks later, on the day they phoned us to tell us our doors wouldn't be ready for another 15 weeks. They said they needed to get the frames constructed and delivered from Europe and this was the new lead time. Having knocked the walls to our house, and having given AWL 4 months notice and paid a large deposit, this was clearly a major issue for us. The attitude from AWL from this point onwards was absolutely shocking. They ignored our phone calls (in fact they refused to take calls from us and said they would only deal with our builders as we placed the order for the doors via our builders/project manager), they passed us around department's and gave us the view that they could not care less. We were made feel like we were a burden on them / annoyance to them, as we tried figure out what to do to plug the hole in our house. Eventually we sent them an email with some ideas of alternative options (we needed to instigate this as AWL didn't even try help us find solutions) and one idea was to provide a different color if they had anything in stock. From this we agreed they would supply a different color which would reduce the leadtime. Thus we ended up with a color which didn't match the rest of our house and we didn't get as much as an apology from AWL. Then the doors were fitted by AWL fitters. All looked OK, however that night, as I went to close the doors, one of the leafs fell out of the rollers. I managed to hold the door until my builders came round and helped me refit the door into the rollers. Given the doors weigh over 80kg each, and I have young children, we were lucky nobody was seriously hurt. AWL came out and adjusted the rollers on the door (again no apology or acknowledgement they did anything wrong). Despite this the doors still didn't roll smoothly and there were a number of scratches on the frames. Eventually we made AWL refit the frames and the door now rolls more smoothly - although we still have scratches / marks on the door and frames, and AWL made us feel like we were a massive burden on them. My builders and myself dreaded every discussion with AWL, especially those with the Sales manager. And all the time we were dealing with these issues with AWL - in fact even in the call when we informed AWL of the doors falling out of their frames - they were aggressively chasing us for the final payment for the doors. For me I can understand that mistakes happen, but the make of a company is how they deal with issues. In this instance AWL choose to ignore us, treat us like we were a burden on them and not admit to any of the mistakes they made - if they simply offered us an apology and admitted some of their mistakes we would have felt a lot better. It feels like there are some serious cultural issues within AWL running right through the company and I can't imagine them lasting long if this is how they trea

AWL supplied us with 2 sets of visofold 1000 french doors, one set of bifold doors and one large floor to ceiling fixed window with 3 mullions. We chose the Bibury Steam colour to blend in with existing wooden and PVC cream glazing on the house. We opted for matt white interior. I give all this detail as the one thing that this tricky when picking new windows is actually getting to see many photos or examples of what it will look like! We also upgraded to solar glass as the back of our house is south facing. The windows were fitted in March 2022, so we have lived with them for four months now. We are really pleased with them. AWL have been out a couple of times to deal with minor snags no trouble at all. We are delighted with the windows and doors overall. The solar glass really does make a difference to reducing the incoming sun, it does have a more mirrored and slight tint compared to standard glass. Fitters were incredibly fast, only moan would be they were so fast they left without cleaning them when they were finished. Advice would be do discuss the detail - what colour hinges & trickle vents, hinges that allow a door to be fixed ajar as you can end up without having discussed some of this and they will make decisions on your behalf. Overall super pleased and delighted with the installations :)

Blistering window beading in a new build house: Reported to management of Aluminium Windows Ltd from April 2021 to the present, Feb 2022, without remedy. Initially, “we can only deal with your builder, the warranty is with him”. With some difficulty and resistance we get the warranty transferred. We continue to request repair of blistered beading with regular calls and emails, time permitting sometimes calling a few times a day - no response, ever. Next we hold and insist to speak to the management and are advised that we cannot have been following the approved maintenance regime for aluminium windows. Our window cleaner cleans the windows regularly we say, with purified water? We do not have a copy of your cleaning regime. We request a copy and search the website for such a thing. None has ever been sent or found. After months of calling and no call backs, a breakthrough, we get a visit from a friendly staff member and agreement that this is a minor issue and to be resolved under warranty. Fantastic! Alas no more heard for months. We resume calls. No calls back. We persist and resort to pleading for repair as a chargeable job, forget the warranty, just repair the blistered window parts and let that be an end of it. Nothing heard! A tip for AWL Sarah Woodcock - mute the phone when you share your opinions of the customer with your colleagues.

They supplied & fitted large patio door & double window & two storey curtain window with door. The fitter broke a pain of glass in patio door. So they came back a week later to fit new glass. Then messed up lock adjustment & doors also became stiff in runners. Window glass left dirty. Broken glass & debris from the old window they replaced not cleared up properly. A different fitter back a week later & correctly adjusted lock & runners. A few days later, we cleaned the patio doors & noticed water building up in channel the doors run in. So fitter had to come back yet again & remove a plank from new balcony to inspect to find the drain holes hadn't been drilled in the factory. So he drilled the holes, but we had to get balcony installer back to repair broken plank which they paid for. So basically loads of aggravation caused by bad fitting. The products are OK though. But I won't be requesting them to come & quote for the new conservatory we're intending to have fitted. Too much stress & aggravation trying to get them to do things right ! And no apology. They seem to think that now things are OK, then there's nothing to apologise for. They lack the will to get things right 1st time.

Very disappointed in the service. Still waiting for doors that were ordered in October and promised by end November by the very latest (now mid December). No reply to emails or phone calls. Doubt if they'll get here before Xmas now.

Between April and end of July 2017, this company installed replacement Bi-fold doors. The first set was manufactured wrong, in opening out instead of in, but they replaced them with correct ones with no hassle. The work was to a good standard but not the best, with small niggling problems. Instead of measuring to my existing wooden stud framework, the new frame was measured brick to brick and the original wooden studs torn out but, on fitting, left a gap of approximately 25mm on both sides. This was filled with expanding foam and trim hidden but no packing spacers to screw into to secure the frame, screwing through the gap to the brickwork instead. Dome headed screws in the base of the frame, had to be replaced with countersunk heads, to allow the slide door to open over them properly The doors which have no hinge adjustments are now dragging on the frame and the floor, having appeared to settle downwards making it slightly difficult to open and close them and causing some of the rubber trim to be dislodged at times. It is not too much to put up with, and I would worry if the frame had to be reset due to the above. Generally speaking, the finish job was ok. The Company responded to this review, saying they believed that I had not advised them of the door problem and that they would get in touch with me, to ensure full satisfaction. They have not done so so far. I HAD advised them on a second visit for other work, where I was to!d there was not much that could be done I have found that the problem was slipping hinges on the last door and, have reset them myself, hopefully to last.

After lots of research, I went with AWL for the bifolds and window for my garden office. Although they had a few issues with the powder coating, they still managed to get the doors and window delivered quickly and fitted with no hassle. The quality of the doors is very high and they were very competitive on their pricing. I would definitely use them again.

We looked around at several types of doors and decided bifold doors from Aluminium Windows Ltd were the ones to go for. They were so helpful, giving us exactly what we wanted and we could see a good example before we ordered. Prices were good too, especially when compared to elsewhere. They were quick, prompt and polite and we were really pleased with the end result. With the recent hot weather the doors have been put to good use!! Can thoroughly recommend this company.

I've had Heritage aluminium patio doors and two windows fitted and the quality of them, as well as the fitting, was really good. The price was also the best that I could find. Would have given five stars except for the fact that I had to wait quite a while for the windows to be fitted. To be fair I'm in SE London and the windows weren't a masive job, so I can understand this. Although it was still a longer wait than it should have been. Overall though, the staff are all really friendly and professional and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending AWL. Especially the fitter, who did an amazingly tidy and professional job.
