My mum's experience of this bospital was absolutely abysmal following her discharge from basingstoke. staff were totally unhelpful and it was impossible to get a prognosis at any time. was fianlly discharged at desperately short notice and with some of her valued possessions missing

The first time I came here I was pregnant and the nurse was lovely! This time, I've come for a follow up after a long, complicated miscarriage and the sonographer was very rude. It was a very unpleasant experience, that I will definitely avoid seeing her again if I ever need another scan. I arrived early and they called me in, as I was undressing in the room she complained to her nurse how busy it had been and now they have "another one" but she wanted a break. I should have known then by her tone. I said she didn't have to call me in early I would have waited I thought I was being helpful saying I was early. She said she was speaking to her nurse, not me and that it wasn't helpful and that she'll get me over and done with so she could have a break. It's her job. If she's busy then that's life, she should have left her own feelings to herself not taken it out on a patient. She was rude throughout, condescending, inpatient, abrupt, disrespectful and very unkind in the circumstances. Many moments she appeared to be mocking me. I snapped and she changed her attitude slightly. She complained I was tensing, I said she was hurting me. I had previously told her I have had a few internal scans recently that were unbelievably painful and I was nervous. I said if she can't do it I'll go to someone else. She said, and I quote, "oh we will get it done! I'll just have to call someone in to sit on you if you don't stop tensing. The more you tense the more it'll hurt. That to me sounded like a threat! As patients we are told there is no abuse to NHS staff. Where is that rule for us?? Awful experience. I would have responded much differently if emotions weren't also heightened. And after leaving I am annoyed at myself for not speaking out. I hope no one has the same experience with her today. I did get her name from the reception staff, but I don't know the legal rules of putting her name on here.

My elderly Mum was here, and despite being told that they would give us notice when she was going home, we had less than 24 hours. Three weeks of her time in this awful place was spent in lockdown, and despite her being negative, and being in a room on her own, and me being negative, we were not allowed to visit. 3 weeks of her precious life, which is now over. Her mental health deteriorated because of this! The right hand of the staff in this hospital does not know what the left hand is doing. The carers told me that it was an unsafe discharge, and that this happens alot, and they end up having to pick up the pieces. I never want to set foot in this dreadful hospital again.
