I took my friend who was staying with me as I think she would love their clothes. Stock is excellent but the owner, husband and wife I assume do not have the service gene. I was very rudely treated and the general air of superiority is off putting. They need to realise that you are a customer and they want your custom. They are not in fact doing you a favour. Such a shame as the products they sell are lovely.

Lovely shop in Alresford with a beautiful collection of home wares and clothing. A real gem to find some special items for your home or friends. The staff were extremely helpful and engaging and made the shopping experience all the more lovely :) will be visiting (from Hong Kong) again!

I hate to leave a bad review but your staff need some lessons on manners and customer service. The shop sells lovely bits for the home, toiletries, clothes and jewellery. I was looking for some birthday gifts and to buy some bits for our weekend house in Hampshire. I wasn’t welcomed just got a frosty “hi” from a young woman in a denim dress. She didn’t ask once if I needed help, if she could take anything for me. She didn’t engage at all just marched about the shop radiating hostility whilst her colleague stood mute behind the till. I bought one gift but this was taken away and swapped for a stock item I would have preferred the one I’d selected as it was jewellery. I don’t know what it is with Arlesford used to be a pleasant place I find a lot of businesses rude and hostile. If you want your town to thrive start being nice to people who spend money and support local businesses or we will go elsewhere.

I recently bought a shirt from here and the staff member took the item to ‘package it at the back’ and weirdly swapped the item with a non-steamed item and it was not packaged, which was very odd. The shop has nice bits in it but the staff are not particularly friendly or welcoming.

Just love this fabulous gift shop! It is an emporium stuffed with wonderful presents and clothes all beautifully displayed. They also have a brilliant dry cleaner. It's like a home from home, the people who run it are really helpful, and the atmosphere is great, with people popping in and out for really good value coffee and lots of chat.

I cannot believe some people! I was in the shop when Kathryn Porter was being told by the owner, very politely, that they were not accepting dry cleaning during August due to staff holidays. He did not laugh, but patiently pointed out that this information was posted on his social media accounts. I had seen this and the other customers in the shop said that they knew about it as well, apparently it is on the website too I am a huge fan of ALCo, they are a fantastic local shop and I think that it is a shame for people to post such vitriolic reviews over what was clearly a misunderstanding
