Very thorough, checking little but important details we missed during our visit. Stay away. No distinctions between rising damp, bridging issues, penetrating damp and condensation made. Report type up was shocking. Everything was coming from the roof apparently but 3 roofers have subsequently said roof was fine. So disappointed as I could be using the 500 pound elsewhere. I have noted the reply, and it is complete rubbish. Rising damp is a phenomenon and can exist through bridging. Our concrete kitchen floor was bridging the dpc by about 6 inches but not picked up on the report. They also called it a damp and timber survey but timber wasn't inspected. I will post the report online for people to view.

I would not recommend this company as they are intimidating and unpleasant. They do not have a complaint procedure nor customer focused business vision. We are awaiting court hearing for their invoice sent to us. We apologised that due to our mistake, property was not accessible. We communicated them to rebook the survey and we were happy to compensate the time and cost for the travel for the appointment. However Mr Mark Dobson insisted we are liable for full invoice > £500. We did not agree to this as the work was not carried out and paying full invoice did not justify for us. We had not signed any terms or conditions or we were warned full invoice would be charged if there would be no access. We believe telling your customers like "we have to pay our over heads, insurance etc" doesn't mean we have to pay the full invoice where work was not carried out. We offered to pay £250 but this was declined. We are awaiting judge hearing if he has legal right to charge full invoice the client when work was not done without prior agreement. We will update the review after the court hearing what ever the outcome be.

Alpine Damp is a very helpful, professional company. Our initial questions were quickly and easily answered, and our survey was soon booked. The surveyors arrived very promptly, every day, and inspected our building so efficiently , using damp meters, thermal meters and photos. They use all this information to diagnose and solve all our problems!
