I've been registered here for a few years but thankfully haven't needed much medical care in that time. I used to be able to phone up and arrange an appointment in the coming days. This isn't the case any more. The phone lines apparently open at 8am for appointments that day. At 8am I tried phoning for 20 minutes but could not get onto their queuing/hold system. I tried again at 1pm and spent 25 minutes on hold before reaching reception who told me they could not make an appointment for me over the phone or even take any details from me and instructed me use their online Patchs system to obtain an appointment. I then registered for Patchs and logged onto the Allerton Medical Centre website which informed me that PATCHS was currently unavailable for Allerton Medical Centre. At this point I have given up. I will register at another practice and go there instead.

At best not fit for purpose, a real danger to health. Receptionists downright rude and obstructive, doctors inaccessible or substandard, building ripe for demolition. Been a patient there for over 16 years and seen it deteriorate to the current state where inspectors need to move fast and shut the place down for good. Dr Lawrenson was the very best of the best and is dearly missed by all. The quality and service currently provided is an insult and I'm off to Rutland Lodge instead.

DONT CARE _ MIS DIAGNOSED/ MRSA IGNORED 7 months I've been going to this surgery with a recurring skin condition. Each time it was a telephone call and fobbed off with antibiotics. After fighting to be seen face to face I finally got an appointment. By this point it had been 5 months after first skin issue. Dr Goma just looked at my skin did no tests, and was not interested in looking at any of my pictures. He only refered me to a dermatologist because I demanded it and was getting nowhere with them. Luckiky in that time and before my dermatologist appointment i moved house and had to change doctors because i was no longer in their caption area. Well what a difference. I got an appointment straight away and felt like i was being taken seriously by my new doctor/surgery. He looked through my pics and most importantly listened. He knew straight away what it was but took swabs of the area ro be sure and ran tests. Within a week I had a diagnosis and a treatment plan. The shocking part is It came back positive for mrsa. That's 7 months of fighting this! It also worries me how none of the doctors I saw here recognised this as a mrsa when my new doctor knew what it was even before the swab test results came back. If this surgery and the doctors cared a bit more, listened, looked and didn't fob me off with telephone consultations for the past 7 months then this could have be caught much earlier and treated. Unfortunately i am now left with scaring all over my body and face from the abscesses and spots etc. Advice to anyone reading this is change doctors.

Just joined a few months ago. I tried to call but no answer. The first bit of communication I’ve had from the surgery is a text which says ‘We are working very hard to try and meet demand for appointments, but it is currently so high that it's impossible to safely do so.’ Really scary message to receive EDIT: after trying to receive medical care several times, I have been treated with 0 dignity or respect and still never even got past the receptionist. i don't think they even have doctors here and if they do they have no interest in helping patients it's impossible to get anything more than a phone appointment, without a time slot so you spend all day sitting waiting for a phone call to them be given incorrect information and 0 help they treat anyone with mental health problems as if you're a freak and a danger to society. i reckon they still believe in locking people up in asylums tbh. every time i try to approach this practice for help my anxiety spikes massively and i just want to give up and cry. also in regards to Lindsays response to my initial review, the links on the text message to 'help' were invalid and lead to an error message. please do better!!!!

Just left this practice after being a patient for over 40 years. I believe this surgery is no longer fit for purpose, almost impossible to have face to face consultation with GP and too many rude and unhelpful reception staff. Important referral not done, excuses being made. Told receptionist tried to contact me yet no missed calls on mobile or landline. I know of several other local longterm patients who have also left this practice recently. Perhaps management should be asking why ? Very sad decline of a once great practice. Honestly would not recommend this place to anyone.

I need a repeat prescription for a simple condition and this surgery has become harder and harder to deal with over the past few years. Every time I use their service these problems arise; - Several weeks to see a doctor, only for them to drop dial (phone rings for a split second) so they could claim they'd called me. - Hour long hold to speak to the least helpful secretary ever - eConsult service regularly offline and doctors send baffling replies that clearly show they haven't listened - Can't get hold of a doctor by phone - ever, you get a text reply days later asking to use the e-consult service - On more than one occasion I've had doctors send text messages that make no sense, at all, whatsoever - I've given a formal complaint about the service and been completely ignored
