My experience with Simon was top quality from start to finish. He assessed the house by carefully considering the stages of its life. I've never seen a tradesman think so carefully before actually beginning the work, and that gives me all the confidence I need to trust the work will be lasting. In our case, we did not have rising or penetrating damp - rather we had cold spots created by a cold wall and other elements, such as irrelevant vents, that were creating air tunnels. With the installation of insulated plaster and low carbon ventilation, the house now feels drier, warmer, and more long-lasting. His communication is faultless, his team was really respectful, and the result is felt already... This guy really really knows his stuff! So definitely use him if you're stuck in a house with damp. There were several issues relating to our damp property such that we were considering selling in auction as they seemed too overwhelming and we didn’t have a full understanding. Simon completed a survey which gave us a much better picture of the range and complexity of the damp problems.He was able to provide a list of the actions needed to rectify the situation and he was confident in stating that the treatments would be successful. This gave us the belief that we could move forward. The work involving fitting fans, new vents, joists and damp treatments in several rooms has transformed the house. It feels like the property is ‘breathing’ - it is fresher and warmer and gives us with the incentive now to complete renovations which would have been impossible prior to Simon’s intervention. He gave us confidence that he had a complete understanding of the issues and how to fix things. The work was good value for money, it was completed on time, there was minimum mess, and the finished plastering is excellent.Simon ably assisted by Nixon have a professional approach that I would recommend highly if you are experiencing damp in your property. Used a couple of times over the years. Old house with a few damp issues amd then a big plastering job. Sam and apprentice did an inspection, found root of issue did a report and then did the work after. Got a 10 year warranty on work. Second job was a reskim of spare bedroom and 2 flights of stairs, nice tody job turned up on time, when they said they would. Service: Mold inspection
