We had a morning of SUP at Semer Water with Sam as part of our retreat With Emma's Dale Retreats. Sam was easy going and made the lesson loads of fun while teaching us a few new things and pitched it perfectly for all the levels of experience there. Highly recommend!!

A large crowd (20-ish) of us visited Alfresco Adventures on the Saturday of Easter weekend to give paddleboarding a try. We were all up for a laugh and that's what we had, ably aided by the guys & gal 'instructors'. Once in our wetsuits, we were shown how to adjust & hold the paddle, get on the board and the technique of how to get from the kneeling to the standing position. This was demonstrated on dry land, however, the reality of doing it on water was a different matter. To cut a long story short, we had a great time - a splashy game of football, trying (& mostly failing) to get a paddleboard conga going to even a bit of onboard yoga. Oh, there were no instructions of how to get off the board - but that was amply demonstrated by our friend 'gravity'! If anyone struggled to get back on their board, someone was always quickly on hand to assist. Great fun, highly recommended and thanks for the photo's.

We had an incredible time on Lake Windemere thanks to Alfresco Adventures. We had good communication on the run up to the day and useful guides ahead of the trip so we were all prepared. On the lake we were given useful tips that meant we were soon gliding efficiently down the lake. The Windemere challenge was great fun and the guys guiding us friendly and full of interesting facts about the area. Look forward to canoeing again and would recommend to anyone to give it a try.

Had an amazing day yesterday Paddleboarding with my family from Ripon to Boroughbridge accompanied by Sam. The day was so fun, despite the rain and great value for money. Sam was both professional and very attentive when we fell but equally relaxed and friendly. We were all beginners and by the end of the day we did not feel like beginners at all. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

A fantastic afternoon spent paddle boarding with alfresco adventures. Wonderful responsive staff friendly instructors and everything is so straight forward to book. Hands down the most fun I’ve had in ages, we all had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return to try more!
